The Matter Space Structure Studio is an experimental study e
 nvironment for
master students from a number of educational p
 rograms at the Department of
Architecture at Chalmers University of Technology in G
 othenburg.
We endorse interdisciplinary studies exploring the full advantage of the technical expertise at Chalmers within areas like material s cience from nanoscale to
large span structures, life sciences in the
search for new materials and urban
sciences from citizen participation to s patial design.
MATTER, SPACE, STRUCTURE
We encourage studies with close ties to the local community. W
 e regard the city
of Gothenburg as our partner along with the business community of the region.
Worldwide, we seek alliances with u
 niversities and organisations with ambitions
similar to ours.
We expect our fully committed students to push the limits for how t o build, to
design and to think architecture. Our faculty is a strong m
 ixture of young and
established architects, of excellent practioners and of leading scholars.

CHALMERS - VIRSERUM
In spring 2010 the Matter Space Structure Studio was asked to design and
construct a bridge and a labyrinth out of wood for the exhibition ”WOOD 2010” at
the Virserum Art Museum. The work was planned at Chalmers and carried out
on site in Virserum during three days.
