OUTBACK BOWL CELEBRATES 30 YEARS The Outback Bowl will be celebrating its 30th Anniversary game in the Tampa Bay area on New Year’s Day. The popular college football bowl will match teams from the SEC and Big Ten Conference for the 20th consecutive year. In all, the two conferences have squared-off twenty-two times in the bowl with the SEC holding a 13-9 advantage. “We are proud that this year’s game will be the thirty-year anniversary of the Outback Bowl in the Tampa Bay community,” said Outback Bowl President / CEO Jim McVay. “We are also proud of the many contributions the Outback Bowl has made to our region over three decades including over one billion dollars in economic impact, hundreds-of-millions in national and international exposure, and one hundred twenty-three million dollars contributed to universities. The bowl was first played in December of 1986 as the Hall of Fame Bowl and later became the Outback Bowl with the signing of Outback Steakhouse as its title sponsor in 1995. That sponsorship, now in its 21st year, is the longest title sponsorship of any college bowl game. To celebrate this milestone bowl officials expect another excellent match-up of teams in this year’s game. The past six bowls have seen three overtime decisions and each of the other three decided in the final two minutes of regulation. Halfway through the 2015 college football season there are no less than eleven teams from the SEC and Big Ten ranked in the Top 25 polls. This year’s team announcements will be made on Sunday, December 6th. Tickets are available at www.Ticketmaster.com. Premium seats are available directly through the Outback Bowl office at 813-874-BOWL. SEC East Florida Kentucky Georgia Missouri Tennessee Vanderbilt South Carolina Conf.
