CBA Learjet 31A MARKET REPORT 4Q 2014
MARKET REPORT FOURTH QUARTER 2014 LEARJET 31A EXCLUSIVELY PREPARED BY JAKE BANGLESDORF WEPUSHTIN.COM | 512.868.9000 MARKET REPORT | Q4 2014 LEARJET 31A LEARJET 31A MARKET INSIGHT A warm hello from my desk in Austin, Texas. An early cold front took Texas buy surprise, but I’m sure we’ll see more warm weather before winter sets in. I hope this report finds you finishing up the year in stride, and getting ready for the upcoming holiday season. As the Bombardier market guru here at CBA, I am completely entrenched in the current values of e v e r y t h i n g B o m b a r d i e r. M a n y a v i a t i o n professionals (even appraisal companies and other brokers) know that my exclusive concentration and expertise with Lears, Challengers, and Globals allow me to stay ahead of the rest of the industry in regards to finding off-market aircraft, gathering sold figures, and knowing how much a plane is worth at any given moment. !I have been pretty entrenched in this market recently because we have two acquisition agreements in hand to purchase Lear 31As— that being said, if you’d like us to take a look at your bird and present you an offer, don’t hesitate to contact me. I could easily tell you about how much your plane is worth within an hour of you emailing me photos, specs, and a maintenance report (it’s what they pay me to do!). !Now on the market side of things—just because the number of 31As for sale hasn’t fluctuated from my last market report to this one, doesn’t mean there hasn’t been any activity. In fact, five Lear 31As have sold this quarter already, and two came off the market without selling. Of the 39 planes listed on the market, about 30 of them are actually for sale. Almost all of the 31As sold since the beginning of the fourth quarter this year have been older aircraft. Selling prices this quarter have been between $600,000 and $1,250,000. Now that the older 31As have been getting picked quickly, we can see prices firming up and swinging somewhat in the favor of the sellers. And we are about to take two more off the market for our clients! !Here are some pro tips I learned from a pilot friend of mine that you might benefit from as a 31A owner: Windshields on this aircraft get delaminated easily due to the standard de-fog system in the 31A. He recommends not using the de-fog unless you absolutely need to (and definitely not using it 100% of the time which is called for in standard procedure). The other recommendation is to cover those windshields with a cover from the outside, and not the reflective shields from within, which turn your 31A windshields into a mini-oven during the summer (further delaminating the glass). Some 31As have been selling around $650,000; and paying 10% of the value of your airplane for windshields is not a good way to end any inspection. !If we are not already speaking regularly, I’d like to start that conversation with you. I’d be happy evaluate your aircraft in the current market with no strings attached. If you’d like to talk numbers, performance, challenges or my market predictions, give me a call or shoot me an email. I look forward to helping you.
