The time that jets were available for sale dropped 11 percent, from 518 to 461 days. Turboprops’ average days on the market rose to 512 from 506 for a 1.2 percent increase. ►Business aircraft transactions dropped 2.3 percent (-5 aircraft) to 212 for the April through June time period this year as opposed to 217 sales that occurred during 2014’s second quarter. This compares to a 2.3 percent increase from 2013 to 2014 for the fleet. New jet transactions declined by 4 (-2.9%) from 138 to 134 while used jets lowered 1.9 percent (-15) from 790 to 775. New turboprop sales during the same time period declined by one (-1.3%) to 78 from 79. Used turboprop purchases reduced 111 (-24.9%), going from 446 to 335. ►Across the business aircraft fleet tracked in the Holstein Aviation Market Briefings, market values were higher on 22 models and lower on the other 63. Individual Average Asking Prices ranged from an increase of 28.2 percent for the Hawker 750 to a 44.4 percent decrease logged by the Hawker 4000. ►Aircraft available for sale ranged from 11 fewer units (Learjet 31A) to 24 additional aircraft (Bombardier Challenger 604). Inventory declines were logged by 39 models, while an identical number saw additional units come on to the market. Seven models had no change. The Beech King Air C90GT recorded the greatest inventory percentage increase (+300) while the Gulfstream G150 registered the largest percentage decrease (-64). ►Activity continues to run counter to conventional economic supply and demand theory on nearly half of the aircraft tracked in this briefing. Only 38 of the 85 models tracked had their Average Asking Price move in the opposite direction of the number available for sale. Of the remaining aircraft, 12 saw both aircraft on the market and Average Asking Price increase while 28 had both figures decrease. Finally, seven aircraft had no change in availability, yet market value decreased on each model. The Bombardier fleet Average Asking Price declined 13.9 percent, in part because of seven additional aircraft on the market. Eleven of the 20 models in the Bombardier fleet logged fewer aircraft for sale, but that was offset by several larger increases in availability on multiple Learjet aircraft and an extremely large number of additional Challenger 604 aircraft coming onto the market. Bombardier incurred the largest drop in market value of all manufacturers. Individual Learjet models split equally with four gaining additional aircraft for sale (35A, 40, 40XR and 45XR) and four (31A, 45, 55 and 60) having fewer on the market. The 60XR experienced no change. Nevertheless, the overall Average Asking Price reduced 9.8 percent for this product line. ✈ Aircraft For Sale: 28 ✈Fleet Availability: 13.1% ✈Avg.
