►Business aircraft transactions dropped 7.3 percent (-312) to 3,949 for January through September this
year. The same period in 2014 yielded 4,261 sales. That compares to a 5.5 percent increase from 2013
to 2014. For the first nine months of 2015, new jet transactions declined by 11 (-2.7%) to 398. Used
jets lowered 5.2 percent (-123) to 2,246. New turboprops sales period dropped 14 (-6.0%) to 221. Used
turboprops purchases reduced 164 (-13.1%), ending at 1,084.
►Business aircraft sold on average in 462 days. This was 9.6% more quickly (-49 days) during the first
three quarters of 2015 versus 2014 (511 days). Jets were available for sale on average 442 days, or
11.6 percent less time (-52 days). Turboprops’ average days on the market lowered by 46 to 482, an
8.7 percent reduction.
►Availabilities ranged from 12 fewer units (TBM 850) to 30 additional aircraft (Piper Meridian). Inventory
declines were logged by 29 models while 50 saw additional units come to market. Six models had no
change. Cessna Citation CJ4 recorded the greatest inventory increase (200%) while the Gulfstream
G650 registered the largest decrease (100%).
►Across the business aircraft fleet tracked in the Holstein Aviation Business Aircraft Market Perspective
(BAMP) Magazine, from where this data is derived, market values increased on 16 models and
decreased on 68. There was no change on one (Falcon 2000S). Individual model Average Asking
Prices ranged from +26.1 percent (Gulfstream G150) to -50.6 percent (Lear 40XR).
►In a slight change, 45 (up from 40) of the 85 models tracked by BAMP had their Average Asking Prices
move in the opposite direction of the number available for sale. Of the remaining aircraft, 10 (previously
seven) saw both aircraft on the market and Average Asking Prices increase while 24 (formerly 28)
had both figures decrease. Six models (down from 10) had no availability change, yet market value
remained the same on one, increased for one, and decreased for four.

All Bombardier aircraft except the Global 6000 had lower
Average Asking Prices. Availability increased on 11 models
and dropped on the remaining nine. Bombardier incurred
the largest drop in market value of all OEMs, followed
by Gulfstream.
An additional 20 Learjet aircraft increased availability
38 percent. That negatively impacted the Average Asking
Prices by 15.6 percent. Only the Lear 45 experienced a
drop in availability, but still lost one-half percent in
market value.
