Mr. Beckman owned a shoe store in Red Wing. In his advertising he promoted himself as Beckman, The Shoe Man. As a prosperous Main Street merchant, he saw first-hand the need for durable and comfortable boots. In 1905 when he couldn’t find boots to meet his needs, he started his own shoe company. Navigating the muddy streets of Red Wing was part of his daily routine. He needed sturdy boots that could be polished to match his status as a successful Main Street merchant. C.E. Unlike other Red Wing work boots, the work chukka was designed for lighter duty and finish carpenters were the primary users. While their boots needed to be sturdy, they needed them to also be light and flexible to accommodate the bending, climbing and kneeling the work day required. What began for us in the 1930s as a more traditional cowboy boot, complete with decorative stitching, has evolved today to become a more recognizable Red Wing Heritage shoe, though it still maintains the characteristics of what made it a great style to begin with – most notably its pull-on entry and classic side seam shaft. ENGINEER The Engineer collection was originally developed for engineers working on America’s railroads. These all-leather boots with pull-on styling used minimal stitching to protect the engineer’s feet from the hot embers that fell from the locomotive’s firebox. They needed comfortable and sturdy footwear for the hours spent on their feet. In 1954, Red Wing responded with style #101, a sturdy black oxford with a moldable insole. It could be polished to meet their uniform requirements, but tough enough for everything their day encountered. The 101 would go on to be part of the Red Wing brand for 46 years and sell over 2 million pairs. It became one of the bestselling styles in company history. Mail carrier and dog. There is no prior authorization required. A return merchandise memo must accompany defective merchandise returns. The return merchandise must be shipped prepaid and via the most economical means. Transportation credit will be issued on defective merchandise and prompt credit will be issued on returned defective merchandise. Shipping Errors: Red Wing Brands of America, Inc. accepts returns on merchandise that is sent in error. This product must be returned within 30 days of delivery. A return merchandise memo must accompany the return along with a copy of the invoice or packing slip indicating the returned shoe(s). Shoes returned without a packing slip will be returned to the dealer. The returned merchandise must be shipped prepaid and via the most economical means. Shoes returned without a copy of the invoice or packing slip will be returned to the dealer. A $10 per pair re-stocking fee will be charged on all special orders returned after 30 days. All Other Returns: No other merchandise returns will be accepted without prior authorization from your Red Wing sales representative. After authorization is granted, a return merchandise memo must accompany your return along with the original packing slip and the return authorization number from your Red Wing sales representative. Shoes returned without the return authorization number and the original packing slip will be returned to the dealer. A $10 per pair re-stocking fee will be charged on all authorized returns. Attn: Returns 135 Cannon River Avenue Red Wing, MN 55066 LIMITED WARRANTY RELATING TO RED WING BRANDED FOOTWEAR Red Wing branded footwear products are warranted against defects in workmanship and materials. If within 6 months of purchase, a defect occurs in a Red Wing branded footwear product as the result of normal use, Red Wing Shoe Company, Inc. (“Red Wing”) will repair the defect or exchange the product. If a product defect occurs as the result of normal use within 6 to 12 months after purchase, Red Wing will repair the defect or issue a credit for 50% of the purchase price. If a product defect occurs as the result of normal use 12 months or more after purchase, Red Wing may, at its option, issue a fair and reasonable credit that can be applied to the purchase of Red Wing branded footwear. The amount of the credit will be determined in the dealer’s sole judgment. Product failures caused by excessive or abusive wear conditions do not qualify for exchange or purchase credit. This warranty is available only to the original purchaser and is not transferable. No adjustment will be given without the original receipt of purchase. You must return your footwear to the Red Wing Shoe dealer from which the footwear was purchased. Disclaimer: The limited warranty relating to Red Wing branded footwear is in lieu of any other express warranty. No agent, employee or representative of Red Wing has any authority to bind Red Wing to any affirmation, representation or warranty concerning Red Wing branded footwear products, except as stated herein. Red Wing shall not be liable for any consequential or incidental damages. This limited product warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights that vary from state to state. Any implied warranties shall be effective for a period not exceeding 12 months from the date of purchase. Some states do not allow manufacturers to impose time limitations on certain implied warranties, so the above limitation may not apply to you. DISTRIBUTION POLICY It is the policy of Red Wing Shoe Company, Inc. to sell its Red Wing Heritage products directly to selected retailers for resale only at or from the retailer’s retail and/or online outlets approved in writing by Red Wing Shoe Company, and only to the retailer’s end user customers. Red Wing Heritage retailers are not authorized to sell to or ship to any end users outside of the United States or Canada. This policy further prohibits resale or shipment of Red Wing Heritage products by a retailer to any other business location inside or outside of the United States. Violation of this distribution policy may result in the immediate termination of a retailer’s right to sell any Red Wing branded products.
