Corporation Strategizes Best
Solutions for Housing
Delta Xi to Create Long-term Plan
I
This fall 87 new members
were welcomed into Delta Xi.
t has been another exciting year at 901
Richmond. After a busy summer of
completing the fire sprinkler project, we
welcomed 87 new members into Delta Xi!
Football season was an exciting time as we
welcomed many new visitors from our other
Delta Delta Delta chapters in the SEC as well
as many of our Delta Xi alumnae. The Greek
community remains very strong at Mizzou, as
I am sure you can tell when walking around
the campus—there is construction of houses
on every street!
The house corporation continues to look at our
annex and strategize the best possible solution
for moving ahead. We are exploring the best
solution for a modern, spacious facility that
best serves the needs of Greek women on MU’s
campus. The goal of the house corporation is
to provide the best learning, living, and leading
environment that we can for members of Delta
Xi. Safety is our number one priority and is at
the top of our list when allocating funds and
projects each year.
We encourage all members of Delta Xi to
get involved with Tri Delta. There are many
opportunities to volunteer with the chapter and
its members, and we welcome you to become
part of it.
I continue to be amazed at all the women I call
sisters at Mizzou. From our youngest member
to our alumnae across the decades, steadfastly
loving one another remains strong among
our members. Stop by and visit the house
when you are in Columbia. We would love to
welcome you home!

Alumna Follows
Dream, Becomes
Doctor at St. Jude
Delta Xi Sisters Inspired Beth Stewart ’99
G
oing through recruitment
can be a difficult process
for some women. But for Beth
Stewart ’99, the women from
Delta Xi Chapter stood out to
her because they all seemed
genuine and supportive. “The
ladies of Tri Delta supported
me throughout college, and
they continue to support me
even today,” she said.
As a young child, Beth had
a family friend named Dusty
who was a patient at St. Jude
Children’s Research Hospital
in Memphis, Tennessee. Dusty
always wanted to go back to
St. Jude to be a physician, but
he never got the chance as he passed away when he was in the seventh grade.
Beth said that Dusty’s dream to become a doctor at St. Jude was laid on her
heart as a young child, and throughout college, the women of Delta Xi pushed
Beth to pursue that dream. “My Tri Delta sisters always encouraged me in
my dream to become a physician at St. Jude, and I am forever appreciative
of their continual support.”
Beth’s goal of fulfilling Dusty’s wish came true. She currently serves as a
physician at St. Jude practicing pediatric hematology-oncology. She said
that she is reminded of her Tri Delta sisters each day as she walks the halls
of the hospital, which are lined with Tri Delta symbols. “I am inspired by the
many things my sisters have accomplished, and I truly think these women
are capable of changing the world for the better,” she said.
Many of Beth’s favorite memories from her days at Delta Xi revolve around
her sisters. “I think it was easy to take for granted the many opportunities
and friendships that I made in college,” she said. “The time goes by so
quickly!” As an undergraduate, there were many alumnae, including Marie
Nau Hunter ’90 and Sanny Jackson Moore ’52, who were supportive of
the collegians and dedicated to making Delta Xi a great place for women
to thrive in college. “Our chapter was incredibly blessed to have so many
alumnae who positively impacted our experience,” Beth said.
While Beth hasn’t been back to the Mizzou campus in a number of years, she
still stays in touch with her Delta Xi sisters and enjoys getting to meet sisters
from all over the country that come to visit St. Jude. “Tri Delta women are
strong, compassionate, and intelligent, and I am incredibly blessed to be
part of such a wonderful group of women,” she said. “I love seeing all of
the Tri Delta sisters from across the country that come to visit the hospital
in Memphis.”
In her free time, Beth enjoys traveling, spending time outdoors, and running.
She has participated in the Memphis to Peoria Run benefiting St. Jude for the
past 10 years. She recently rescued a chihuahua named Bella that she enjoys
spending time with. E-mail Beth at [email protected].

Chapter Gives Back to Columbia Community
Delta Xi Recruits 87 New Sisters
W
hat an exciting year it has been for the members of Delta Xi Chapter.
We enjoyed social functions, giving back to the Columbia community
through philanthropic endeavors, and continued to succeed in academics.
Sisters Enjoy Social Events
February was a fun and exciting month for social events for the women
of Delta Xi. Members enjoyed preparing for the annual formal, which
was planned by Social Chairman Emily Hoogerwerf ’11. The theme of
the event was Crush Party and was at the Upper Crust on February 15.
In keeping up with the spirit of Valentine’s Day, members also enjoyed a
sisters-only event planned by Kristy Wogtech ’11 where they decorated
ties for their dates while enjoying some Valentine sweets.
24 Sisters Receive 4.0 GPA
Academics continue to be the main focus of Delta Xi. As a chapter, we
placed fifth on campus for our fall 2012 grades and 24 sisters received a 4.0
for the semester. We are so proud of these women.
New Members Call Delta Xi Home
Sisters enjoy decorating ties for their dates.
Actives Rock Lip Synching Competition
This year, members of Tri Delta participated in RAMS, a campus-wide
philanthropy benefiting multiple sclerosis. We participated in activities
such as a speaker presentation, downtown awareness day and, jail-n-bail,
among many other volunteering activities. RAMS serves as the University
of Missouri’s largest on-campus philanthropy. The Delta Dancers, led
by Director Kelly Lamp ’12 and Co-Director Rachel Gabriel ’11, also
worked hard to choreograph a performance for Rock-It, a lip-syncing
dance competition, which also raises money for RAMS. Their theme was
Candyland. The dancers breezed through preliminary auditions and were
selected to move on to the final competition.

or aunts. Another 25 women had other connections to Tri Delta through
friends and extended family members. Delta Xi was so excited to welcome
home 87 new sisters. We are truly grateful to our alumnae for their support
and recruitment recommendations.
Thank you, loyal alumnae, for your support for Delta Delta Delta at the
University of Missouri. We appreciate those who give their time and
service to our organization and know that it is because of sisters like you

Saturday afternoon there was a reception for
faculty, town, and university women at the
