Analyst’s Verdict: Sennockian Star looks
fairly treated on the form he showed when
successful on AW last time, never mind what
he was capable of last summer, and could
be the answer in a competitive handicap.
In-form stablemate Master of Finance looks
sure to make a bold bid, while the very
lightly-raced Seagull Star has a good record
fresh and is also an interesting runner.
Analyst’s Verdict: Arod looked much
improved for the drop in trip when beaten
under a length in the Lockinge at Newbury
3 weeks ago and is taken to come out on
top at this lower level. Even under a penalty
the reliable Custom Cut seems likely to be
there or thereabouts, with Shifting Power
completing the shortlist having dipped in
class to get his head in front last time out.
Sir Michael Stoute
Analyst’s Verdict: Abseil looked a patternclass performer in the making when landing
this race 12 months ago, and though things
haven’t gone to plan since, he shaped with
a good deal of promise on reappearance at
York, so he’s now one to take very seriously.
Saucy Minx is a lively outsider, while Gratzie
has to be respected given her record here.

17/2 Realtra, 9 Ballymore Castle, 16 Hail The Hero, Code Red, Lexington Times
5.50
Analyst’s Verdict: A very open listed event.
Aces was a little disappointing in the Craven
on his reappearance but it’s possible 1m
stretched him and last year’s Champagne
Stakes third is worth another chance back
down in trip. The returning Mubtaghaa is
much respected for in-form William Haggas,
while Secret Brief arrives on the back of a
fine second at this level at Sandown last
week.

110 3. TICKS THE BOXES

109 2. MAKE IT UP

Betting Forecast: 9/2 Al Bandar, 6 Ticks The Boxes, Goring, 13/2 Make It Up, 7 Geological,
15/2 George Bowen, 11 Mount Tahan, 12 Fieldsman, 18 Itorio
Analyst’s Verdict: Al Bandar ‘S maiden win
at Brighton suggests he’ll handle this track,
and his latest Doncaster third looks to be
very strong form for the field size, so he has
a lot in his favour from an unchanged mark.
Make It Up is a fascinating contender on
handicap debut/reappearance, while Goring
excelled himself at Haydock last time.
Richard Hughes
Betting Forecast: 7/2 Legatissimo, Crystal Zvezda, 7 Jack Naylor, 9 Diamondsandrubies,
11 Together Forever, 12 Lady of Dubai, 14 Jazzi Top, 16 Star of Seville, 20 Al Naamah,

4.30
Analyst’s Verdict: Odeliz sets a clear
standard having been placed several times
in similar events last season, including when
runner-up to Thistle Bird in this race, and she
can put an end to her losing run. The lightlyraced Bold Lass continues on an upward
curve and is worth a go at this level, while
there shouldn’t be much between Don’t Be
and Crowley’s Law again.

Timeform Rating of previous winners: 127 127 127 127 128 (Avg 127)
132 2. AROD
1m114y
Analyst’s Verdict: Crystal Zvezda could
be something a bit special such was the
impression created at Newbury, and she just
gets the nod ahead of 1000 Guineas winner
Legatissimo, who promises to stay this far.
Jack Naylor is also worth considering after
her very encouraging effort in the Irish 1,000
Guineas, as long as this doesn’t come too
soon.
Analyst’s Verdict: Using all the information available to them, a Timeform Analyst assesses the merit of each horse’s form, considers how
likely it is to reproduce or improve upon that rating under the prevailing conditions and then balances those conclusions against the odds
available in the market, thus arriving at a Verdict.
