informatics or the science of data processing, you get a new pipeline for
information called telematics. That’s a whole new word, and it’s a whole new

AFS Connect 2.0 from Case IH is a comprehensive
suite of fleet management and maintenance solutions
that gives today’s agriculture producers long-distance,
real-time control over their operation, and it is available
today from your Case IH AFS Certified dealer.
The Case IH AFS solution will help maximize
efficiency by giving instant access to information
about every machine in an operation’s fleet. That
includes location, diagnostics, fuel & engine stats as
well as connections to Case IH service expertise and
24/7/365 expert support.
By providing a flexible yet intuitive, easy-to-operate
interface, the AFS Connect 2.0 solution can help
producers farm better. Case IH customers can count
on a reliable, consistent one-minute data update rate
for every connected vehicle to help managers stay
prompt and effective.
An innovative feature called Live Time offers a
connection between the manager and the equipped
machine’s vital information. It allows for 30 minutes of
real-time, daily connection to each equipped machine.
At the owner’s option, a Live Time session between
the machine operator and a Case IH expert can provide
second-by-second remote training and diagnostics.
AFS Connect 2.0 also integrates live two-way
messaging for quick inquiries to operators via the
AFS Pro 700 control center.
The system isn’t limited to Case IH equipment: AFS
Connect 2.0 helps to manage every element of an
operation’s fleet. It can interface with and monitor
anything with power, from field equipment to road
vehicles. It can help save time, save fuel, cut costs,

THE AGRONOMIC TRACK DESIGN THAT
CHANGED AN INDUSTRY
Case IH engineers designed the exclusive track found
on Magnum Rowtrac tractors based on a startling
observation: The world isn’t flat. So they designed
their tracks to move in three dimensions to maintain
full contact with field contours.
Based upon the original, field-proven Quadtrac
track design introduced in 1996, these individually
driven, oscillating tracks use a five-axle per track
design to lower soil pressure, reduce compaction
and provide better flotation in the field. This more
evenly distributes the load and keeps the power on
the ground. This design produces traction that is
unaffected by hitch or drawbar load, and improves
the ride over terraces and other uneven terrain.
Special challenges face producers who farm in
challenging conditions, like wet, muddy Delta soil;
Idaho’s soft, sandy loam; the saturated floodplains of
the Red River Valley region; or Colorado’s heavy, highplains clay.

ADVANCED TIRE TECHNOLOGY
Out in front, Magnum Rowtrac tractors feature advanced

40 percent reduced pounds per square inch (PSI)

NEW FOR 2015
Farm owners and managers who equip their tractors
with AFS Connect 2.0 will have complete access to
data collected by the Steiger tractors’ CANbus system

To save fuel or add reserve power when planting or
seeding, the operator can now maintain PTO speed
at 1,800 engine rpm. Operators now have a new
standard feature that enables them to dial in exactly
the right hydraulic flow for precision planting.
For improved sound, the new radio package
includes Bluetooth with SiriusXM radio with a
noise cancellation microphone. A new automatic
temperature control system cools the cab down
quickly and controls the temperature through a
ventilated seat that includes a lower slide out cushion.
Overall, Steiger and Quadtrac tractors continue to
set the standard for high horsepower performance,
productivity and fuel and fluid efficiency. Because

RED CUSTOMER GROWS
OPERATION EXPANDS WITH HELP FROM CASE IH FULL LINE & DEALER
In the last year, Philip Parish and Chris Hooks, who
operate P&H Farms near Eddyville, Kentucky, have
doubled their cow-calf operation. They now have
about 400 cow-calf pairs, in addition to 15,000
acres of corn, soybeans and wheat. Their Case IH
equipment was an important factor in making the
expansion a success. For hay production, the farm
uses a Case IH RB564 baler pulled by a Case IH
Puma 170.

Parish. Today, P&H Farms has assembled a full line

DEALER DEDICATION
Case IH understands that good support is important,
as it continues to dedicate more than two-thirds of
Morgan regularly checks in with personnel from
P&H. In addition, H&R Agri-Power has set up service
station boxes at P&H Farms so that frequently used
parts such as belts are stocked and ready when they
need them.
RB5 SERIES ROUND BALER LINE EXPANDS
Hay growers now have new options available to speed
baling. The new RB455 (4x5-ft. bales) and RB465
(4x6-ft. bales) round balers deliver 20 percent more
capacity than their predecessors, similar to the RB565
(5x6-ft. bales) introduced last year. The RB455 and
RB456 can be ordered in four configurations: hay,
silage, rotor feeder and rotor cutter.

To boost capacity, the overshot feeder between the
pick-up and bale chamber allows for quick and even
feed of material into the bale chamber. In addition, the
roller windguard and five bar pick-up, available on the
silage, rotor feeder, rotor cutter and premium models,
comb the crop off the ground for fast and even feeding.
RB5 series balers are built to last, featuring a totally
redesigned pick-up that’s been strengthened from the
inside out. Belt tracking and durability has never been
better using all-new premium belts available in a laced
or endless design.
To simplify operation, RB5 balers offer an
ISOBUS-compliant control system. You can run the baler
through the AFS Pro 700 control center in your tractor,
providing a simple user interface with the large touch
screen monitor.

attention to each detail of an operation,
with an eye to bottom-line results.

maximize their yield and ROI potential?”

Every season, producers face the challenge of
making the most of their acreage and getting the
highest yields they can. They make decisions about
crops, seed, inputs and equipment based on sound
principles – the best agricultural, financial and
market information available.
Agronomic Design starts in the field – listening,
learning, developing a deep understanding of
producers to inform every design decision. Case IH
engineers and product experts get feedback from
growers constantly, from field visits, field tests and
from information relayed through Case IH experts
based in the field, who support dealers working
alongside customers.
At Case IH, we follow the path laid out by ag
producers. Our product development process
begins and ends with growers. We pay attention
to what they do and why they do it, and then we
offer designs to help them do it better. We call that
Agronomic Design.
Case IH utilizes eight Agronomic Design Principles
to guide our product development, each beginning
with a basic customer need. Case IH equipment is
designed to improve crop residue management, soil
tilth, seed bed conditions, seed placement accuracy,
plant food availability, crop protection and harvest
quality. At every step, the goal is to give producers
more in-field advantages to help them optimize
the growing environment for healthier plants and a
better harvest.
So while product development uses the talents of
many specialists in design, agronomics, engineering,
ergonomics, telematics and more, the final and most
important voice at the table is that of ag producers.
Nobody knows their acreage better.
That applies to big decisions about big machines, like
Axial-Flow combines. The first Axial-Flow combine
was refined in its prototype stages by putting it to
work in actual harvest conditions and integrating
grower suggestions into the design. Decades later,
Axial-Flow retains its industry leadership through
a process of continuous improvement. That means
hearing what producers have to say, benchmarking
actual harvest results against competitors, and adding
design upgrades season after season.
Similarly, when producers told us that they weren’t
achieving the field results they wanted from their
tillage passes, Case IH gathered more than 2 million
hand-collected data points in a five-year field research
project in five states and seven locations. From that
research, we learned that up to 10 percent of seeds
planted failed to emerge or develop a full ear at
harvest because of cloddy, uneven output. Most of
those lost plants were recovered, simply by focusing
on delivering level output, both clod and valley
free, following primary tillage. This drove significant
improvements in the Ecolo-Tiger® and True-Tandem™
product families.
Listening to producers impacts the little things we do,
as well. When Case IH designers wanted to improve
their cab control, they invited customers to sit down
and share their ideas. As part of the design process,
producers were given modeling clay to mold into the
forms they found most comfortable. So today’s
Case IH Multi-Function control handle is the literal
result of hands-on input from real-world users.

EARLY RISER ROW UNIT ADVANTAGES COMPLEMENTED
Every corn grower strives for rows and rows of evenlyspaced corn plants growing at the same height and
stage. Those photocopy plants are clear signals that
your seed got off to a good start, planted at the
proper depth, with uniform soil pressure all around
the seed and good soil-to-seed contact.

The proven Early Riser planter row unit was designed
to start seed off right. First, it creates the industry’s
only true “V” seed trench using a furrow forming
point and seed protection shoe that holds the seed
trench open long enough for the seed to drop to the
bottom of the trench. Compare that to a conventional
row unit that uses trench wall compaction to hold the
furrow open and leaves a loose “w” soil profile that
leads to inconsistent seed depth.
A corn seedling only has 120-150 psi capability to
establish a root base and get its head out of the
ground. Once it gets sunlight, it becomes more
vigorous and has 450 psi to grow its roots. If a new
plant has to deal with compaction at the bottom of
the seed trench, as with a conventional row unit, it
can’t establish a strong root system, putting it at a
disadvantage for the whole growing cycle explains Bill
Hoeg, North America Marketing Manager for Planters.
Then the Early Riser reduced radius gauge wheel
captures the soil coming out of the trench, while
carrying the weight of the row unit and planter
almost two inches from the seed trench wall. This
leaves a soft trench wall and a compaction free
zone directly below the seed. Compare this with
conventional row units that carry the weight of
the planter on the edge of the trench and create

Other planters use a pinch wheel system. It tries to
collapse the compacted side walls from the top down,
mixing and covering the seed with dry soil and leaving
air gaps that lead to poor soil-to-seed contact.

challenging, variable conditions, Case IH and Precision
Planting have teamed up to offer the Early Riser with
select Precision Planting components like DeltaForce®,
which automatically controls the planter’s down pressure
on a row-by-row basis for more accurate seed depth.
“By managing down force in a ‘controlled loop,’ a
grower can monitor, measure and react almost like
the planter is thinking for itself,” says Cory Muhlbauer,
Field Agronomist for Precision Planting.
“Automated down force management helps the grower
maintain more consistent seed depth, quickly adjust to
changing soil conditions, and facilitates faster planting
speeds. Precision Planting’s DeltaForce reads 200
times per second, reacting up to five times per second
to changing conditions. The integration of Precision
Planting products into the Case IH Early Riser row units
will be a huge win for the Case IH grower to optimize
planter performance,” Muhlbauer says.

LENGTH, WEIGHT AND BALANCE
Case IH has lengthened the frame of the True-Tandem
335VT by 16 inches to improve the tool’s balance
as it travels across your fields. Balance and stability
are key to soil leveling. A smooth soil floor paves the
way for smooth seeding. Lengthening the frame also
results in increased positive tongue weight in the
field, during transport and in storage.
AGRONOMIC DESIGN INSIGHTS VIDEO

Count on them to size and mix the heaviest Bt
residue and tough soils. The shallow-concavity,
crimped-center blades are mounted securely and are
less susceptible to wear and tear than conventional
blades. The blades cut even the heaviest residue and
mix it with the soil to hasten plant decomposition and
nutrient cycling.

An improved scraper design has been added to
minimize plugging. Fixed-mount scrapers keep mud
and trash from building up on the blades, making
tillage more efficient. Heavy cast iron spools between
the blades add weight to the gangs where it’s needed,
not the frame. Case IH also has added greaseless
bearings on hinges, rockshafts and baskets to reduce
routine maintenance.

Stubble-resistant tires add to the disk harrow’s rugged
profile. These optional stubble-resistant tires are

new Axial-Flow 9240 tops out at 625 peak horsepower with the new Case IH FPT
15.9L in-line, 6-cylinder, Tier 4 B/Final engine.
Our industry-exclusive Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR)-only exhaust
aftertreatment technology allows Case IH FPT engines to create more power with
an average of 10 percent less fuel consumption than comparable Tier 3 models.
LOW MAINTENANCE CVT DRIVES
Producers need to maximize time available for harvest, especially when harvest
windows are narrow. To keep them up and running, Axial-Flow 240 series
combines continue to use low-maintenance Power Plus Continuously Variable
Transmission (CVT) drives, significantly reducing the use of chains and belts.
This unique, but proven, drive system also features the industry’s only in-cab
feature to reverse the rotor and deslug the combine. No more getting out of the
cab and spending hours pulling out plugs by hand.
Unlike complex competitive designs with more parts, more heat and more
opportunities for trouble, Case IH models require only one turbocharger, no diesel
particulate filter, no exhaust gas recirculation system and no operational changes
when upgrading from Tier 4A Case IH models. Since engine exposure to soot
and carbon are minimized, service intervals are extended – including an industryleading 600 hours between oil changes.
Whether using the 7240 with 403 rated horsepower (hp), the 8240 with
480 hp or the 9240 with 550 hp, producers will power through demanding field
conditions and handle heavy loads. The new Case IH FPT 11.1 L, 12.9 L and
15.9 L engines feature in-line six-cylinder diesels with full-authority common
rail fuel injection systems, steel-alloy pistons and mid-stop cylinder liners. These
designs produce Tier 4 B-compliant engines that producers will find use less fuel
and fluids and improve their throughput in most conditions.
GREATER GRAIN CAPACITY
Axial-Flow 240 series systems have been upgraded to match available
horsepower. Higher capacity grain tanks are sized to open most fields before
unloading and get through harvest in less time with less labor. Models 8240
and 9240 feature 410-bushel tanks, while the 7240 has a 315-bushel tank.
Added horsepower helps speed unload times, too. Unload up to 4.5 bushels per
second. New fuel tank capacities keep you running up to 16 hours on one fill.
To match the higher horsepower and larger grain tank, Case IH has improved
yield sensors, software and grain delivery systems. All new cooling systems
include a rotary Air-Wand to ensure maximum performance from the new line
of Case IH FPT engines.

combines, like the new Axial-Flow 7240, 8240 and
9240 models. These new heads pick cleaner, save
more grain and provide easier maintenance. Multiple
features work together to achieve uniform crop flow
through the header, such as larger pinch-point stalk
rolls with a pinching, knife-to-knife style that’s more
aggressive for breaking down stalks, resulting in smaller
residue pieces that will till up better in the fall.
3016 PICKUP HEADS
Count on heavy-duty 3016 pickup heads with fully
welded mainframes and robust augers for both small
grains and grass seed harvest. An integrated seed
dam between the rear picking belt roller and floor
prevents grain loss with no need for a rubber seal.
The heavy-duty, fully-welded auger has a floating
26 in. diameter with deep flighting. The new 20 in.
auger flighting provides increased feeding capacity
that allows more efficient crop flow. The header is
equipped with a heavy-duty RC 80 auger drive chain
and rear wind-guard with in-cab hydraulic height
adjustment.

FARMALL 100A SERIES DELIVERS
EVEN MORE VALUE
Easy-to-operate Farmall 100A series tractors are the
top value tractor for producers looking for a durable,
yet high-performing, machine to accomplish a wide
range of jobs. Manufactured in North America, this
simple and versatile tractor line now offers even
more standard features than comparable models in
its class.
The Farmall 100A series cab has been upgraded
to offer the most comfort available in its class, and
now the ergonomic controls are consistent with other
tractors in the Farmall family. An instructional seat
is available, and a new option for a high visibility
roof panel improves sight lines and simplifies loader
operation.
Unlike some competing tractor lines, the Farmall 100A
series offers numerous feature options to match
your specific needs. Choose from either a cab or
ROPS platform. An 8x8 power shuttle transmission
comes standard, but an 8x8 synchro shuttle or 16x8
power shuttle with hi-lo transmissions are options.
The Farmall 100A series also boasts a best-in-class
3-point hitch lift capacity of up to 7,200 pounds.

2015 MAXXUM SPORTS NEW LOOK
New 2015 Maxxum models will feature new,
aggressive styling, which includes a new roof with
upgraded LED light package. The hood has also been
significantly updated, giving us the first look at the
new styling to be introduced to the Case IH highhorsepower families of tractors.
Five new Tier 4 B/Final-compliant models – the
Maxxum 115, 125, 135, 145 and 150 – deliver
95, 105, 110, 120 and 125 PTO hp respectively.
Thanks to a slightly longer wheelbase, operators will
value an improved turning radius while maintaining
the stability and comfort that a longer wheelbase
provides. An upgraded front axle suspension system
with double the strength, through the use of nodular
iron casting, will be used in these tractors for longer
component life. The headland control system available
on Puma® tractors is now included on the updated
Maxxum line, as well.
If you’re seeking more control and efficiency, the
4-cylinder Maxxum line offers the option to upgrade
to a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). Or,
choose a Maxxum MultiController model with the
same controls and AFS Pro 700 control center as the
Case IH Puma, Magnum and Steiger tractors.
