The member roster is either attached
to this newsletter or included in the
newsletter email. This roster is

Annual Smock Order
Upcoming Events
Important Note: Even though a
turning challenge is announced for a
meeting, this does not mean that other
items can’t be brought for the show &
tell. Feel free to bring in what you’ve
created and don’t feel you have to be a
master turner to show off your work.
Everyone starts as a novice.
April – Tuesday, April 7. Trent Bosch
will be demonstrating his “Vessels of
Illusion.” March Turning Challenge:
Twist Work.
Upcoming Symposiums
Utah Woodturning Symposium

David Moncada will be taking orders
for custom smocks at the April
meeting. They will be embroidered
with the FRW logo and your name. A
full range of sizes are available in
'woodchip' brown with a full-length
zipper in the front. Two styles will be
available, short sleeved is $35, and
long sleeved is $45. Cash or a check
made payable to “Front Range
Woodturners” will be required at the
time of the order. If you cannot attend
the April meeting, call David at 303877-7930.
The order will be placed with the
vendor on April 17th, so be sure to get
your order in to him before then. You
must specify your size and name.
Delivery is anticipated for the May
meeting. Please note that this is a onetime per year event, so if you've been
thinking about getting a new smock,
this is your chance, so don't miss out!!
The following is a list of Channel 6
auction contributors from the club.
Ron Ainge, Grover Brown, Douglas
Clark, Steve DeJong, Pete Holtus, Phil
Houck, Robin Luther, John Montague,
Rick Orr, Bruce Perry, Terrance Rice,
Jerry Smith, and Tom Tedesco.
We would like to convey our thanks
and appreciation to each of these
members who donated to a wonderful
cause.
Woodturning Classes
Available
The best way to develop your turning
skills is through the guidance of an
expert. Pete Holtus is conducting
classes at the Denver Woodcraft. Here
is the schedule for the next quarter.
Details are available on the club
website.

Club Library
Great work by Bob Olsen, Don
Ainsworth, and Michael Busse at the
March meeting – it was a busy one,
with 116 Library resources signed out,
and almost as many signed in!
We had 36 new items last month!
There will be fewer this month –
spreading out the available budget –
but watch for Malcolm Tibbett’s
Segmented Woodturning Lessons on
DVD and several new Jimmy Clewes
DVDs as well as new magazines and
last month’s demo DVD. Within 3-5
days before each meeting, download
the PDF list, make the print larger on
FRONT RANGE WOODTURNERS
your screen, and create your very own
“wish list.”
Please take the time to check items
out - we want to continue to operate
based on trust. We do realize that
members are human and make errors,
but at the March meeting several items
were removed from the Library without
being signed out. If these items are
not returned promptly, other members
lose the opportunity to benefit from
them. We cannot afford to replace
missing items right away. If these
losses continue, we may be forced to
close off the video cabinet from
member traffic, and watch the books
and magazines more closely, making
using the Library a little less enjoyable
for both the Librarians and members.
One more request – please treat FRW
Library DVDs as your own rather than
as rentals. I just had the second DVD
re-surfaced this year – it was so badly
scratched that it took four passes to
get it to work again (was heavily
scratched on the shiny side, and was
skipping and erratic). Re-surfacing
costs money – again an unnecessary
burden on our Library budget – and it
takes the DVD out of circulation for a
month while it is being re-surfaced!
Regards,
Dave Hawley, FRW Librarian

FRW account. 303-761-0743.
Shop Tours
Please contact Marty Christensen,
[email protected], if you would be
interested in hosting a shop tour of
your shop. You would not need any
formal presentation or demonstration
unless you would like to. Most
members would just like to see how
you organize your shop, store
equipment and supplies, see any jigs
you made or special tools you’ve
made, see some of your turnings and
just shoot the breeze in general. It's
really kind of fun. You would be
surprised to know how much new
members appreciate just talking
woodturning and getting to know each
other. Try it - you will enjoy it and so
will those who come.v
Mentoring Program
The mentoring program is design to
bring seasoned turners together with
new comers or those who need help
working around a challenge. Please
contact Bruce Perry if you would be
interested in either volunteering your
time or to take advantage of the
mentoring program. Bruce Perry –

Patronizing their store is the best
“thank you” we can give Rockler for
