Happy New Year!
I
’m looking ahead to the next few months as a time of
excitement in raising funds for Sables programs. The
2014 SCI Convention will soon be here with the Education
Sables Annual Luncheon Show & Auction being held on
Friday, February 7th with doors opening at 10:30 a.m.
Mark your calendar and buy your ticket now! There are
auction items you won’t want to miss and Artie Dean and
Bourbontown have a new show for you to which they’ve
added one of the finest fiddlers, new music and new songs.
Our Convention Team has been planning this event for
nearly a year and have lined up an array of auction items
from among SCI Exhibitors who support SCI Foundation
education programs. Sables appreciate the generosity of
these donors and the generous bidding spirit of our buyers.
Read about the Live, Silent, Super Silent and 4-Day
auction items in this newsletter. Check out the Dream Hunt
III ad: an Ethiopian Mountain Nyala Hunt, plus a
Photographic Safari, Joshua Spies Custom painting and an
MG Arms custom rifle make up the fabulous Dream Hunt
III. This amazing package will be auctioned during the
Saturday night evening banquet.
Donors and buyers make a difference in continuing our
outdoor heritage. All proceeds from Sables auctions and
sweepstakes drawings goes 100% directly to SCI
Foundation education programs. Those programs include
the American Wilderness Leadership School conservation
education course for teachers and other educators, college
scholarships for students majoring in wildlife management
or a related field, Hands On Wildlife Kit (an instructional
tool for educators to teach youth), National Archery in the
Schools Program, 4-H National Shooting Sports
Ambassadors, Outdoor Writers of America Youth Writing
Contest, The Salvation Army Outdoors youth conservation
and shooting sports project and grants to SCI Chapter
youth programs.
Youth! Youth! Youth! And more Youth! They are the future
of conservation and hunting! The return on investment in
SCI Foundation education programs is tens of thousands of
youth each year engaging in outdoor recreation activities

Hunt for Two Hunters
Hunt West Texas Hill Country with longtime donor Richard
Muennink of Action Outdoor Adventures on this 3-day, 2x1
guided blackbuck, hybrid sheep and 2 feral boar hunt for
two hunters where method of take is hunters' choice.
Schedule with outfitter for open dates in 2014 only. No
alternate year is available. Hunters must apportion game.
This outfitter and his clients have logged numerous trophies
in the SCI Record Book, including overall top-ten records.
Included are ranch lodge accommodations, meals, 2x1
guide service, trophy fees for one blackbuck, one hybrid
sheep and 2 feral boars and field prep. Additional hunters
cost $350/day. Not included are any before/after hunt
expenses, license ($48), caping, meat processing and field
prep. Hunt can be upgraded to include any of the seventy
exotic species offered; see outfitter for dates and pricing.
