If you have purchased a long arm machine, this is the club for you. Although we feature the ABM Innova Long Arm, all long arm quilters are welcome. Debbie Thornton will instruct you in a variety of
long arm topics such as feathers, pantographs, leader application (Velcro & zipper), E-cording, ruler
work, stencils, echo quilting, upper laser work, thread painting, and cross hatching. Each club meeting will feature a time of show & tell, the featured topic of the month and a chance to learn a variety

Quilting Classes
Free Motion Quilting
Back by popular demand! Learn how to free motion quilt including stippling using your home sewing
machine. Templates, marking, supplies, threads and free motion techniques covered. You must have
a working knowledge of your machine. Class includes a brief overview of straight stitch quilting with a
walking foot. Don’t forget to bring your basic sewing supplies including your machine, free motion foot
(also called darning foot), walking foot, disappearing ink or water soluble marker, an ink pen, colored
thread of your choice (spool and bobbin), safety pins and quilter’s gloves (optional). For those machines that do not drop their feed dogs, please bring the cover plate. Sign up now if you are interested

Piecing Basics - 3 Part Series
Join Afton for a three-week quilting course that will introduce you to rotary cutting and time-saving
block construction techniques. We will cover strip piecing, stitch and flip triangles, chain piecing, flying
geese, half square triangles, and applying borders. This class is perfect for both
beginners and those who want to gain some pointers while piecing a fun wall

Stack N Whack
Learn how easy it is to bind your quilt and get that
unfinished object off your list. The basics of
straight quilt binding will be covered as well as advanced binding techniques such as piped bindings,
bias bindings and reversible bindings. The class

Stabilizer Solutions
The majority of the problems in machine embroidery stem from stabilizer issues. In this lecture class I will go over a wide variety of stabilizers, their uses and suggestions for various
types of fabric or projects. A variety of samples

each stabilizer was used to achieve the desired
result. You will take home handouts for future
reference.
