May Crowning will be held on Friday, May 1 after the
8:00 a.m. Mass. Parents, families and friends please
plan to join us for this wonderful celebration honoring
Mary.
Expectations for Parents and Students:
Students are to be in Full Uniform
Students are to bring a flower to carry in the procession and then will place flower in a vase at the
feet of Mary
After Mass students will proceed to gather in the
courtyard around the Holy Family Statue for morning
pledge and announcements
Students will then line-up with their flower and the
May Crowning Procession will begin
We are honored to have Fr. Christopher Foeckler,
M.J. lead us in our Procession, Rosary and Crowning of
Mary.
Confessions will be held following the May Crowning
in the School Chapel

families that have taken interesting digital photos of our students at any school-related
events and activities to submit them electronically to Mrs. Washburn

2nd Annual Golf Scramble
We are proud to announce that VDM will be hosting our 2nd Annual golf scramble on Friday, June 5th at Orange Tree Golf Course in
Scottsdale. The shotgun start will begin at 1:00 pm followed by a
buffet dinner and Raffle. There are a number of ways all the families
can participate and I would like to take a moment to describe them.
1) Play - We would like each family to either host a foursome or
recruit a foursome. Even if you don't golf, a scramble is a great way
to spend some time with family and friends without the pressure of
playing well while raising money for the school. If you are unable to
play I am sure you know people that would love to. So get the word
out and let's start collecting the reservations. Forward the flyer to
everyone you know, you will be surprised as to who will be interested. Let's maximize this outing and fill up the 36 foursomes (or 144
golfers)!
2) Sell Hole Sponsorships - Most of the dollars raised in tournaments like these come from Sponsorships. This is a great way for
companies and individuals to gain exposure while helping out a
great cause. There are different levels of sponsorships as seen on the
flyer and they range from $500 a hole up to $5000. Needless to say
if a company is interested in sponsoring but may interested in doing
something a bit different have them contact us, we can make it
work. So from local real estate agents to large public companies use
your connections and get them to sponsor!!
3) Raffle - We would like to have two volunteers to help organize this but it will take all the families to help obtain items. Hotels,
restaurants, golf courses, etc. are willing to give away items to NonProfit Organizations. We are also hoping to have a few items of
Sports Memorabilia, the options are really endless, let's pull together
and make this a great success.
So it's that simple, bail out of work early on Friday, come play
golf with 3 of your buddies, get your company to sponsor a hole,
and donate your Michael Jordan signed jersey that's collecting dust.
That's it!
Our fundraising goal for this event is bring in $15,000 and if we
all pull together this can be a great success and a wonderful event.
