complete La Linea Clasica. Than in 1992 the five size of La Linea
1492 Were announced, Siglo I, II, III, IV and V

Introduce in 1935 by the H.Upman factory. Montecristo appeared
first in just five sizes described by numbers not names. The other
sizes like the “A” and Especial were added in the early 1970’s.
Montercristo’s distinct flavour delighted cigar smokers so much
that it has reigned as the most popular Havana for over two
decades

With over 130 years of heritage, Romeo y Julieta, named after
Shakespeare’s literary masterpiece, is one of the world’s most
iconic cigar brands. Created in Cuba in 1875, Romeo y Julieta
cigars became incredibly famous in the 20th century; even
Winston Churchill, after visiting Havana in 1946, became an
avowed fan and, in return, one of the brand’s sizes was named in
his honor.

First introduced in 1901. The full flavour of Bolivar cigars is almost
as widely known as it's namesake, Simon Bolivar (1783-1830). He
was the Venezuelan leader who liberated, from Spanish colonial
rule, all or part of what is today Venezuela, Columbia, Peru and
Bolivia. The cigar brand was created by the Jose Rocha Company
and manufactured at the El Crepusculo factory, that was later

Established in 1840 and intended for the British market — where a
comic book featuring a character named “Mr. Punch” was in
fashion — Don Manuel López, owner of the J. Valle y Cía,
established the Punch cigar brand. The comedian Mr. Punch, who
wore an unmistakably sly smile and who always had a cigar in his
hand, still adorns the box decoration of these outstanding Cuban
cigars.

Jose L Piedra was a very popular brand in the US prior to the
embargo. The brand was resurrected in 1996 and has since found
a following again. The tobacco for the Jose L Piedra cigars is
grown in the Remedios region of Cuba. These strong cigars offer
raw tobacco flavors and definitely need time to reach their best.

This brand is named for it's founder, Don Jaime Partagas, who
began manufacturing cigars in 1827, but put his own name on his
line of cigars in 1845. After his death, the brand passed to Ramon
Cifuentes in 1889 and was owned by Cifuentes y Cia. prior to
nationalization, earning a mention by name in English novelist
Evelyn Waugh's 1945 work, Brideshead Revisited. Partagas cigars
also won gold medals in at least three international expositions
between 1867 and 1884. There is no doubt about the strong,
intense flavour of this line and it is still produced in the Partagas
factory.

Established by Jose Gener in 1865, the name roughly means
"valley of Monterrey," a particularly fertile site in the Vuelta
Abajo, which had been farmed by Gener since at least 1860. The
brand offers a lighter flavour and a wide range of sizes, the
largest of which are much celebrated. The Le Hoyo series cigars
was introduced about 1970 and presents a stronger flavour

H. Upmann is as famous a brand as there is in the world
of Cuban cigars. The H. Upmann cigar brand dates back to 1844,
when Herman Upmann, a German banker, began using specially
imprinted boxes of Cuban cigars as promotional items for his
banking firm. The combination proved successful, so the H.
Upmann cigar brand was born and continues to this day.

Kwan Ben Sen and his two brothers migrate from China to
Havana, Cuba, to eventually settle in Manicaragua, the center of
Cuba. Kwan adopts the Cuban name: Domingo Azan and he is
soon known by Cubans as the ‘Chinese from Manicaragua’.
Together with his sons and nephews he starts to produce hand
made cigars. The cigars become very well known in the region,
using long filler tobacco leaves from Hoyo de Manicaragua, which
is considered one of the top tobacco region in Cuba. Luck is on
Mr Azan’s side, he wins the national lottery. He invests the money
into building a state-of-the-art cigarette factory.

Melanio oliva first grew tobacco in Pinar Del Rio, Cuba in 1886. his
growing operations were suspended while he fought in Cuba’s war of
independence. after returning from war Melanio resumed his
operations. in the early 1920’s Melanio’s son Hipolito Oliva took over
the growing operations. Hipolito cultivated the Oliva family fields for
several decades. as Cuba became overrun by the communist, the
tobacco landscape changed. Hipolito’s son Gilberto Oliva shifted from
growing to brokering tobacco. in the early 60’s the pressure became
too great and Gilberto travelled from country to country in search of
the distant cuban taste.His travel took him to Honduras, Panama,
Mexico and even the Philippines. Gilberto finally found fertile ground in
Nicaragua. Today Gilberto along with his family are nicaraguan’s
second largest grower of cuban seed tobacco.
