Bilingual Secretary Position Available
Jennifer Ortega, our parish secretary, has decided to continue her schooling. We are therefore
looking for a person to fill her role as parish secretary. The job requires a bilingual facility in
English and Spanish, both written and verbal. The parish secretary greets people as they enter the office
and helping to solve their needs or directing them to the appropriate staff person. Proficiency with a
computer, especially with Microsoft Office and Publisher, as well as basic office equipment are
needed. The parish secretary, among other duties, maintains records for sacraments, creates the bulletin,
functions as secretary to the pastor and other staff, receives religious education applications and overall is
the first person people interact with when they call or visit the office. This job requires good
organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines. The jobs demands attention to detail and a need for
prudent confidentiality. The job is full-time with health benefits. The job will start September

GRACIAS!
As you may have read above, I will no longer be
working here as the parish secretary. It was with
heavy heart that I put in my two week notice (well
in this case 2 month notice). I began working here
in October 2014 and my last day will be on
September 23 2016. Even though I was a bit short
from Monica’s 32 year run, I became very attached
to this place and its parishioners. I met so many
wonderful people along the way and made many
friends. I thank everyone for their gift of
friendship. I am grateful to have met each and
every one of you. From working with mom #2
Chris, to Lorraine bringing me my favorite
marinated pretzels, or Elida who would bring me
chocolates, Pauline covering for me while I was
gone, and to the parishioners who would just stop
by to say hi. You all have a special place in my
heart. I am sad to go but happy and excited to
begin my new journey as a college student this
Fall. It has always been my dream since I was in
high school to work in the medical field, and to be
more specific as a nurse. I love helping people. I
ask for your prayers as I continue on in my life
journey. I hope to keep seeing your faces in mass
or at special events as I still will be around. Feel
free to stop by the parish office to see me before
my last day. Thank you all, God bless.
Como han leído en la parte de arriba, ya no voy a
estar sirviendo aquí como la secretaria de la
parroquia. Con tristeza puse mi aviso de dos semanas
(más bien mi aviso de 2 meses). Empecé a trabajar
aquí en octubre de 2014 y mi último día será el 23
de septiembre de 2016. A pesar de que llevaba poco
tiempo menos de los 32 años de Mónica, me encariñe
mucho a este lugar y a sus feligreses. Conocí a tanta
gente maravillosa en el camino y hice muchos
amigos. Les doy las gracias a todos por su don de la
amistad. Estoy agradecida de haber conocido a todos
y cada uno de ustedes. Desde trabajar con mi mamá
# 2 Chris, a la señora Lorraine quien me traía mis
galletas saladas favoritas que marinaba, la señora
Elida quien me traía chocolates, o Paulina y Barbara
quienes cubrían por mi mientras estaba fuera, y para
los feligreses que simplemente llegaban a la oficina
para saludarme. Todos ustedes tienen un lugar
especial en mi corazón. Gracias al Padre Jaime y al
Padre Scott por darme la oportunidad de trabajar
aquí. Estoy triste de irme, pero feliz y emocionada de
iniciar mi nueva jornada como un estudiante del
colegio este otoño. Siempre ha sido mi sueño desde
que estaba en la preparatoria de trabajar en el campo
de la medicina, y para ser más específica como una
enfermera. Me encanta ayudar a la gente. Les pido
sus oraciones a medida que continúo en mi viaje de
la vida. Espero seguir viendo sus caras en misa o en
eventos especiales, ya que todavía estaré por la

For many years we had a JV community in Woodburn and thanks to the hard work of Fr. Jim Coleman and others, we are able to re-open our Woodburn community later this summer. The house
we will rent from Mike and Kathy Smith has some furniture needs. Below is the updated list. If
