Celebrate Argentina and Latin America! December 4, 2011, 4pm The Beech Rooted in the learning & wisdom of the ancients. Sustained by the ideas of the present. Forging new paths and ideas. 52 Weston Rd Westport, CT 06880 www.beechwoodarts.org Welcome to Beechwood!! We started Beechwood to expand the idea of what art and the arts experience could be. We imagine this to be a place alive with artists, musicians, performers & filmmakers, arts appreciators & supporters, all working in collaboration toward a new way to create and experience the arts. We envision programs that provide an intimate, immersive arts experience and art that brings together both established and fresh voices across all arts disciplines. We are happy you have found your way here and hope you become a part of the fabric we are weaving at Beechwood. Welcome!” -‐-‐ Jeanine Esposito & Frederic Chiu The name Beechwood is in honor of the magnificent Copper Beech that stands just outside, watching over the house. The Copper Beech has a rich mythology that closely matches the Beechwood Vision. The Beechwood Vision: Beechwood Arts is a not-‐for-‐profit venture with a Mission to create an intimate & innovative arts space that involves collaboration between all the arts: music, visual arts, film, performance, dance and cuisine. Beechwood programs and activites will honor tradition and established masters transforming them, through collaboration, into new ideas and art forms for the future. Beechwood will also seek to transform how people experience the arts, bringing back the intimacy of salons with an immersive arts experience. We envision doing this through innovative programs: Events: A mix of art, music, film, performance, food & wine – including old masters and artists with fresh, new ideas Innovative workshops that explore new territory in how to create art and that fosters collaboration between arts disciplines Mentor-‐protégé programs that combine masters with bright stars to collaborate on new work and new forms Artist-‐in-‐residence program where we host up to 3 artists from different disciplines to work together over a 2-‐3 month period. We have a large and beautiful carriage house across the courtyard as well as a separate art studio and storage shed.
