March 27th, 2015 STATEMENT • The Greater Moncton International Airport(GMIA) is the ideal air cargo hub for domestic and international shipments. • Positioning NB (via GMIA) as an air cargo and logistics center of choice for global trade between Asia, the European Union and North America. Opportunity for GMIA • Major freighter operation using the GMIA as a Trans-shipment hub into the North-eastern United States (70M consumers). • GMIA acting as a multi-modal catalyst for the transportation industry. • GMIA positioning itself as a One-stop operation between ground and air. • Trans-shipment model creates ground demand in and out of the United States. • Trans-shipment promotes greater utilization of the trucking capacity. GMIA Cargo Advantage: Trans-shipment • The Greater Moncton International Airport (GMIA) has been given the official designation as an International Air Cargo Trans-shipment Centre for New Brunswick under Canada’s International Air Cargo Trans-shipment Program – GMIA one of only 8 in Canada. • The International Air Cargo Trans-shipment Program allows Canadian and foreign carriers to be authorized by the Canadian Transportation Agency to carry international cargo to the Greater Moncton International Airport coming from and destined to points outside Canada even if the rights are not provided in Canada's bilateral air transport agreements. • In-transit cargo may also be stored in bond until it is transported to its final destination by air or another mode of transportation. They operate a fleet of B737400 all freighter aircrafts via Iceland. They connected the Greater Moncton International Airport to strategic European markets through Cologne, Germany. They are looking at coming back to the GMIA in the second quarter of 2015 (May 2015). C.A.L. Cargo Airlines They have been servicing the GMIA since April 2014. Connecting Greater Moncton directly to Europe via Liege Belgium. They are an Israeli based carrier and an expert in complex cargo needs including: Pharmaceuticals, live animals, dangerous goods, and perishables CARGO UPDATES - CARRIERS KF Aerospace • They are proudly Canadian.
