DIRECTIONS Southbound and Northbound I-5: Take exit 1C off I-5 in Vancouver, Wash. Go west on Mill Plain Blvd about 2.5 miles. Mill Plain becomes NW Lower River Road. Take first left onto main terminal entrance overpass. From the security gate, turn right and proceed to the Port of Vancouver Terminal Office, 2985 NW Harborside Dr. Please park in the designated truck parking area and come into the office to be processed for loading. PICKUP/DELIVERY OF CARGO Appointments must be made with customer service one day prior to dispatching a truck to the terminal. Delivering Cargo to Terminal, Driver MUST Know the Following: • • • • • • • • • Steamship Line Name of Vessel/Voyage Number Final Destination Port Commodity and Marks Weight and/or Measurements Booking Number Container Load Plan (if applicable) Certified Weights (if applicable) Schedule Appointment KEY POINTS • Appointments are required. Call customer service on the front of this brochure. • Stay in your truck. Should you need to leave, ensure the truck release is visible. • If waiting in terminal for more than 30 minutes, please notify any Ports America vehicle. TERMINAL GUIDE 2014 SECURITY NOTICE Due to federal security regulations, all those entering the terminal and maritime facilities must show their TWIC cards, may be subject to screening and must have a reason for access. • Port security will not provide terminal escorts. Those without TWIC cards or escorts will be refused entry. • All visitors must carry ID while on terminal. • No photography is permitted without prior authorization. Kathy Kennedy (360) 993-8649 [email protected] OPERATING HOURS The terminal will typically operate on a Monday through Friday schedule. Operating hours are 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m. PST. The terminal will be closed Saturday and Sunday unless previous arrangements are made with management. APPOINTMENT SYSTEM • All trucks are loaded/unloaded in the order received based on appointments made by 2:30 p.m. the day prior. When calling for appointments on a day when the terminal is closed, please leave a voicemail on either of the customer service extensions listed on the front of this brochure. TRUCK SAFE ADVISORIES SPEED ON TERMINAL ROADWAYS 25 MPH, SPEED IN CARGO AREAS IS 15 MPH. • Obey all traffic signs • Wearing a safety vest when outside of a vehicle is mandatory • Yield to forklifts, cranes, equipment and pedestrians • Keep vehicle headlights on for safety • Report unsafe driving conditions and spills to security • No idling while on terminal • Trucks with appointments will be loaded/unloaded first. Trucks without appointments will be worked after trucks with appointments, time permitting. HOLIDAY CLOSURES - 2014 • Trucks should arrive at the gate prior to 4 p.m. to allow time to process documentation. Trucks received after 4 p.m. risk not being loaded/unloaded by 5 p.m. Jan. 1 Jan. 20 Feb. 12 Feb. 17 March 31 May 26 July 4/5 July 28 Sept. 1 Nov. 11 Nov. 27 Dec. 24/25 Dec. 31 TRUCK DRIVER GUIDELINES • Delivery and/or cargo release information presented by truckers must be complete and match delivery information provided by the steamship line. • Drivers are ALWAYS responsible for ensuring the correct cargo is loaded on their trucks. • Drivers are responsible for directing how cargo is to be loaded on their trucks. • If your cargo requires dunnage, you must provide your own dunnage. If you do not have any, the port will provide dunnage at a fair market value price. • The nearest public scale is located at 2901 NW Lower River Road.
