Spring’s all about making a statement with make-up; be it a red or bright pink
lip, (think Michael Kors, Zac Posen, Diane Von Furstenburg) or a softer version of the smokey eye (Carolina Hererra, Bottega Venetta, Missoni ). Models faces were often sculpted and contoured with warm taupes and shimmering champagnes (Calvin Klein, Givenchy, Jil Sander) in a much more natural
way than what was done in the 1980’s; the result was a natural, but defined
look. Dewy skin (Prada, Dolce & Gabanna) was still a perennial favorite on
the runways for the upcoming season as well, but it was enhanced by strong
brows (Fendi), pinky- peach cheeks (Anna Sui), copper, bronze and gold shadows (Versace), stained or nude lips (Alberta Ferretti, Nina Ricci, Oscar De La
Renta), and surprisingly, black rimmed eyes and perfectly defined lashes (Lanvin, Roberto Cavalli). It seems anything goes for spring when it comes to playing up a feature, so have fun and experiment, but remember to keep everything
else fresh, light and polished.
