Recommended Gekkeikan Sake Cocktails Sparkling Sugarplum by Tad Carducci 2½ parts Zipang Sparking Sake ½ part Gekkeikan Plum Wine ½ part ginger liqueur 1 part passion fruit nectar Shake Gekkeikan Plum Wine, ginger liqueur and passion fruit nectar over ice. Strain into a champagne flute. Top with chilled Zipang Sparkling Sake and stir gently. Garnish with a candied ginger slice. Classic Sake-tini 2½ parts Gekkeikan Sake 1 part premium vodka Shake well over ice and strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with thin slices of Japanese cucumber. Japanese Cobbler by Dale de Groff 3 parts Gekkeikan Sake ½ part maraschino liqueur 2 slices fresh pineapple 1 slices fresh orange 1 slice fresh lemon Splash of club soda Muddle 1 pineapple slice, orange slice, and lemon slice with the maraschino liqueur. Add Gekkeikan Sake. Dry shake and fine strain into a tall glass with ice. Top with a splash of soda and garnish with a pineapple slice. Haiku Lychee Cooler 2 parts Gekkeikan Haiku 1½ parts pear vodka ¼ part ginger syrup 1 lychee fruit ¼ part fresh lime juice. Muddle lychee fruit and ginger syrup in a mixing glass. Add Gekkeikan Haiku, pear vodka and lime juice. Shake well over ice and fine strain into a tall glass filled with fresh ice. Garnish with a lychee fruit and lime twist. Cherry Blossom-tini by Allen Katz 2¼ parts Gekkeikan Sake ¾ part Cointreau® ¾ part cranberry juice ¼ part fresh lime juice 2 dashes orange bitters Shake ingredients over ice and strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with an edible flower. Lovely Ginger Lady by Allen Katz 2¼ parts Gekkeikan Sake 2 slices fresh peeled ginger 1½ parts Lillet Blanc® ¼ part simple syrup In a mixing glass, muddle ginger. Add Gekkeikan Sake, Lillet Blanc and simple syrup and shake well over ice. Fine strain into a chilled martini glass. Ninja Bellini Manhattan East by Dale de Groff 4 parts Zipang Sparkling Sake 1 part peach liqueur Pour the peach liqueur into a chilled champagne flute and top with chilled Zipang Sparkling Sake. ½ part Gekkeikan Haiku 2 parts Bourbon 1 part Domaine de Canton Liqueur® 2 dashes orange bitters Pour all ingredients over ice in a mixing glass and stir well. Strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with an orange twist. Morning Glory by Allen Katz Zen-tini 1½ parts Gekkeikan Haiku 8 green seedless grapes 1½ parts Lillet Blanc® ½ part simple syrup In a mixing glass, muddle grapes. Add Gekkeikan Haiku, Lillet Blanc and simple syrup and shake well over ice. Fine strain into a chilled martini glass and garnish with a green seedless grape. 2 parts Gekkeikan Nigori 1 part Plymouth® gin ¼ part fresh lemon juice ¼ part fresh lime juice ½ part simple syrup 4 slices cucumber 1 sprig basil Muddle the basil and cucumber in a mixing glass. Add the Nigori, gin, fresh lemon and lime juice and simple syrup. Shake well over ice and fine strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a cucumber slice. Japanese Peach Manhattan 2 parts Gekkeikan Haiku ½ part Gekkeikan Plum Wine ¼ part peach liqueur Stir all the ingredients in a mixing glass with ice and strain into chilled martini glass. Garnish with a maraschino cherry. Pomegranate Sake Cosmo 2 parts Gekkeikan Sake 1 part lemon vodka ½ part grenadine syrup ¼ part fresh lemon juice Shake all ingredients well over ice and strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with lemon twist. St. Zipang 4 parts Zipang Sparkling Sake 1 part St Germain® elderflower liqueur Splash yuzu simple syrup Shake the St Germain and yuzu simple syrup over ice and strain into a chilled champagne flute. Top with chilled Zipang Sparkling Sake. Garnish with a fresh raspberry. Lovely Lychee Sake-tini 2 parts Gekkeikan Sake 1½ parts Plymouth® gin ¾ part lychee liqueur Shake all the ingredients over ice and strain into chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with lychee fruit and a maraschino cherry. Asian Pear Sake-tini 2 parts Gekkeikan Haiku 1 part vanilla vodka ¾ part passion fruit juice ½ part pear liqueur ¼ part agave nectar Shake all the ingredients vigorously over ice, double strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a lemon twist.
