Breastfeeding Champions Pregnant and New Mums We have trained Breastfeeding Champions on our staff who can offer information and support and reassurance with feeding concerns. Additionally, they are on hand to make sure new mums are signposted to other appropriate/relevant services if requested or needed. Baby Rhyme and Tummy Time / Under 1’s / Bumps and Babies Pregnant – 1yrs This session is for children up until they are 1yr old and for expectant mothers to meet other parents/carers. Enjoy learning some new songs and practising old ones. Singing is such a ‘feel good’ activity for everyone and helps develop language skills. Bumps and Babies including Messy Fingers (Watford) Pregnant – 1yrs Any activity that has children using their senses and squealing with delight, is good for their development too! This group offers babies up to the age of one the opportunity to explore lots of different textures and interesting play opportunities while promoting their fine motor and sensory skills! Messy play activities will include use of foam, playdough and cornflour. Caution – don’t wear your best clothes as you may get a little messy! Beginner Biking A one hour session to help encourage your child to ride their bike without stabilisers. Parents/Carers will need to be on hand to support their child/ ren. Stabilisers to be removed before the session. Behaviour Clinic Parent/Carers A chance to discuss any concerns you have about your child’s behaviour with a member of the Health Visiting Team. Appointments to be booked in advance and will be approximately one hour. Please book via the Health Visiting Team on 01923 243568. Child Health Clinics / Baby Weighing Clinic 0-5 years Child Health Clinics are run by our local Health Visiting team. The clinics are an opportunity for you to receive support and advice on your child’s health and development. First Steps for Summer Walking 2 years in the Garden (Watford) We are passionate about inspiring children’s imaginations while also helping parents and their children to have lots of fun! Sessions are for children who are just starting to walk to approx. 2 years old. Children will be able to explore several, exciting craft stations which will support their fine motor and imagination skills. Your child can also come along and enjoy a range of different water and sand activities. Depending on the weather this activity will hopefully be outside, so please remember your sun screen and a towel!! Family Fun Day 0-5 years Fun packed family fun day in collaboration with Kings Langley School partnership and Pre School Learning Alliance. Activities include, face painting, sport skills, art and crafts and much more. Entrance fee of £2 per child or £5 for 3 or more children. Little Chef’s Summer Special 2-5years This session provides opportunities for creative, fun cooking with your child/ren. Parents and children will learn new cookery skills and to eat healthily at a low cost. Little Athletes Teddy Bears Picnic (Watford) Come and join us for a fun and lively session that is aimed at parents and children wanting to get active and burn energy! We will use games, stories and more to get you and your child moving, working towards giving your family a healthier start with extra tips on nutrition and eating well. Stay and Play 0 – 2year olds A fun session of rhymes and sensory play for you and your baby to enjoy in your local park Bring a teddy bear and some lunch with you and we can turn this into a real Teddy Bear’s Picnic 0-5 years A fun filled session which brings together all your children’s favorite activities. We will cover the six areas of learning and development (creative, physical, personal social and emotional, communication language and literacy, problem solving reasoning numeracy, knowledge and understanding of the world) this is a great opportunity for you and your child to make friends with families in your local community. Families will explore nature with fun games and charts to help find amazing insects and creepy crawlies! Stay and Play will bring together all your children’s favourite activities. We will cover the six areas of learning and development (creative, physical, personal social and emotional, communication language and literacy, problem solving reasoning numeracy, knowledge and understanding of the world). Rhythm, Rhyme & Stories 0 – 5 year olds A fun filled session packed with lots of activities for families with children under 5. Bring your own picnic and plenty of drink. Activities include a variety of sport skills, face painting, art and crafts and much more. Stroller Strength This is like your normal outdoor bootcamps but incorporating your buggies and your little ones in them! Squats, push ups and burpees, mixed with running and competitive games all with the buggy in tow! You’ll enjoy a whole body work out. Also the Instructor will show you how to get the best out of the outside play equipment in Ripon Park. This activity is funded by the We Move, She Moves project – mums can then say what other activities you would like planned. Bring a towel and water.
