GETTING HERE
The Creative Campus is situated on the Altyre Estate in Forres, Moray. The Estate
is 15 miles from Inverness Airport, 20 miles from Inverness city centre, and 78 miles
from Aberdeen city centre.
By bus
Stage Coach operates services 9 and 10 from Aberdeen, Inverness and Elgin to
Forres. More information and timetables are available at www.stagecoachbus.com.
A morning and evening minibus service will operate to and from the campus daily
(Monday to Friday) from Tesco in Forres – Timetable details to be confirmed.
By train
Scotrail operates services between Inverness and Aberdeen linking with services
from Edinburgh and Glasgow – Timetable here.
By car
Altyre Estate is situated two miles south of the centre of Forres off the A940, and
three miles from the junction with the A96, the main east to west arterial route
connecting Inverness and Aberdeen.

PLACES OF INTEREST
The Creative Campus is situated in Moray, about 27 miles north east of Inverness.
The town boasts a castle with impressive parks and gardens, and is home to a
number of craft shops and art galleries. Forres and the surrounding area - which
also includes Findhorn, Brodie, and Alves - hosts a number of cultural events,
including the carnival style Culture Day and bi-annual Findhorn Bay Arts Festival in
September. Around four miles west of Forres is the 16th century Brodie Castle, and
south of the town, the River Findhorn meanders through this area of great natural
beauty with several picnic spots to enjoy.
Moray Coastal Trail
The coastline and settlements of Moray are linked by a way marked coastal trail of
approximately 50 miles from Findhorn to Cullen. The route can be extended from
Findhorn to Forres along a section of cycle route, taking in rugged cliffs, caves,
harbours and sweeping sandy beaches.

Sueno's Stone
Standing over 6.5 metres high, Sueno’s Stone is a Picto-Scottish standing stone on
the north-easterly edge of Forres. ITis the largest surviving Pictish stone of its type
in Scotland.

River Findhorn, Randolph’s Leap

Falconer Museum
Situated in the heart of Forres High Street, the museum houses a wealth of

Knockando Woolen Mill
Deep in the Spey Valley, Knockando Woolmill continues an unbroken 200-year-old
tradition, producing woven fabric on its historic looms. Listed as the 'Wauk Mill' in
parish records from 1784, the mill has since maintained its traditions of spinning and
weaving through generations of families.
Brodie Castle
Set in peaceful parkland, this 16th-century tower house contains fine French
furniture; English, continental and Chinese porcelain; and a major collection of
paintings, including 17th-century Dutch art, 19th-century English watercolours, and
early 20th-century works. The magnificent library contains some 6,000 volumes.

Cawdor Castle
Cawdor Castle dates from the late 14th century, having been built as a private
fortress by the Thanes of Cawdor.

Loch Ness
A large freshwater loch extending for approximately 23 miles (37 km) southwest of
Inverness. Loch Ness is best known for alleged sightings of the Loch Ness Monster,
also known affectionately as "Nessie".
