CUSTOM RESTORE 1982 YAMAHA XJ1100 MAXIM
HAS BEEN RIDDEN ONLY 650 MILES SINCE RESTORE
GOOD PROJECT BIKE FOR SOMEONE,
BIKE WAS PURCHASED SEVERAL YEAR AGO AS A BASKET CASE
LEFT FOR DEAD WITH ONLY 10,500 MILES ON IT. I ALWAYS
WANTED A XS1100 SPECIAL, THEN CAME A CROSSED THIS. THAT
STARTED MY PROJECT.
I WOULD LIKE TO SEE SOMEONE WITH MY LOVE FOR THIS BIKE TO GET IT. I HAVE OVER

LISTED BELOW IS WHAT ALL I DID AFTER MY PROJECT STARTED
1 : Stripped down to the bare frame & Sand Blasted, Powder coated the Frame, Swing arm, Both Stands, All
Brace's
2 : Fenders, Tank, Side Covers, All painted Gloss Black to get a mirror finish look.
3 : Pulled the top end off of the motor and the valves ground and put in new valve guides, Ordered a Big Bore
Kit had it bored and the new pistons fitted, Looked over everything and it all looked new and in A1 shape.
4 : Carbs, tore down, dipped, put in all new rubber goods, New CV Boots & Slides, New Intake Boots, Put in
a Dyna-Jet Kit, K&N Air Filters, Tuned with Merc Syc tool & YICS tool.
5 : Brakes, Stripped down calipers & master cylinders, put in kits, had stainless steel brake lines made all
around, put on new pads.
6 : Gauge Cluster was broken, picked up on on E-Bay (It did not work) so I took them both apart and built one
that did and while it was apart re-set the odometer on the e-bay parts to zero.
7 : Exhaust was trash, so I ordered a new MAC 4-2 with turn outs,
8 : Put on a new pair of, Metizler ME880's
9 : Front Forks were a little spongie, so I put in a set of after market springs and new seals.
10 : I also re-work the Fuse Block and put in std. knife fuse's
11 : I did not care for the turn signals & License plate bracket, so I re-worked things a bit, shortened the rear
turns so they were closer to the bike, and put on a after market plate bracket, the front turns I hated them
coming out of the headlight, so off they came and I picked up a set on e-bay with the visor's for the turn's
and headlamp.
12 : One more thing I hated is the handlebars, I re-worked the tree to put on a set off a XS650 Special.
13 : After the 1st. Ride I found out I had the 2nd. Gear problem, so I flipped the bike over and last year I did
the Dremmel Fix & added a washer (Worked Great)
