In the Middle of Somewhere

Not only have they had Country-Western
performers, but also the Swinging Medallions,
Marvin Sease, Clarence Carter and Percy
Sledge.
How they do it, has even become the latest
question from other local promoters.
Recently, they expanded their venue to
include Bike Night in Sasser, where La Grange
favorites, Hired Guns, performed in front of rows
of bikes and spectators. Guns’ lead entertainer,
“Big Country” got right out into the crowds and
attracted some ladies’ audience participation. He
can really get out there and motivate, plus, they’re

asser is a tiny town around 9 miles West of
Albany on highway 82 and if you blinked, you
would probably miss it. For the past year, it
is becoming the highlight of entertainment brought
to the area by Cindy Senn and Sasser Flea Market
owner, Dee West. “We started out with local bands
and expanded to headliners to give the area some
entertainment it needed“, said Cindy.
From John Anderson to Sammy Kershaw,
the Flea Market Stage has drawn attendance of over
2000 as far as Valdosta, Phoenix City, Savannah,
Athens and the Atlanta area.
a “heck of a good band!” They hope to promote a
“Bike Night” every quarter.
Coming up the end of August are the
Kinchafoonee Cowboys, Shenandoah on September
12th and on October 10th, Confederate Railroad. In
between the headliners, local bands perform, some
who have performed at Bainbridge Bikefest, so they
are really worth hearing.
What was once in the middle of nowhere
has become somewhere to be on weekends at the
