At the turn of the 21st century, firearms
enthusiast and lifelong shooter, Marty Daniel,
had multiple concepts and designs he thought
would greatly improve his M16 rifle. Unable
to find these parts in the commercial market,
he designed and created sling loops and rails
in small batches and soon found the demand
for these types of products was much greater
than he could have ever imagined. Thus,
Daniel Defense was born.

This multi-million dollar investment
demonstrates the Daniel Defense “take no
prisoners” mentality and desire to grow as a
major player in the commercial rifle market.
It’s this mindset that led to Daniel Defense
being chosen as the provider of rails for the US
Military’s Elite, Special Operations Command
(SOCOM), as well as being the sole provider
of L85 rails to the United Kingdom Ministry of
Defense. Daniel Defense takes great pride in

In addition to the current facility in Black
Creek, Georgia, Daniel Defense successfully
began operations in 2012 at its 90,000 square
foot facility in Ridgeland, South Carolina. This
newly acquired space affords Daniel Defense
the ability to continue growth in the coming
years; allowing them to meet the continued
demand for product, as well as the ability to
better serve their customers.

placed under the vehicle to simulate an IED exploding during a convoy. The rifle survived, less the
plastic butt stock as shown below, and with the slightest tweaking of the buffer tube was able to be
fired without issue.
Like in the first Torture Test, Daniel Defense rifles are once again put through the toughest
challenges that Larry Vickers, host of TAC-TV, could come up with. It was buried in sand,
submerged in mud, frozen, dragged behind a vehicle, shot with a shotgun and subjected to
explosives in an attempt to blow up the rifle.

The latest addition to the line of rails offered
by Daniel Defense is the exceptionally
ergonomic DDM4 Rail™. The DDM4 Rail™
replaces the Omega X Rail™ on all complete
Daniel Defense Rifles (with the exception of
the DDM4V7 and MK18). The DDM4 Rail™
features a new version of Daniel Defense’s
patented Bolt-Up System™ utilizing 4 bolts.
The bottom rail surface is positioned closer to
the barrel and was designed with ergonomics
in mind. Front and Rear Sling Adaptors are
integrated into both sides of the single-piece
rail body. The DDM4 Rail™ is only available
on complete rifles or upper receiver groups
and is not available for individual sale.

is equipped with a single-pinned low profile gas block that is drilled, taper rimed, and press

All Daniel Defense Rail Systems are built to the 1913
Military Specification, and the Mil-Spec Type III

The Daniel Defense RIS II is an innovative upgrade for the M4A1, M16A4, and MK18 CQB/R.
The Daniel Defense Rail Interface System II (DD RIS II) was designed at the request of the United
States Special Operations Command (SOCOM) for the SOPMOD II weapons system. SOCOM
had a specific requirement for a rail system which would accommodate a M203 40mm grenade
launcher and still free float the barrel. Daniel Defense responded with a product, the DD RIS II, that
met this requirement without the use of additional parts or special tools. This was accomplished
by integrating all of the needed parts to mount the M203 into the rail itself. After years of rigorous
testing by Special Forces Operators, Daniel Defense was selected as the Sole Source Provider of
the RIS II to SOCOM. Daniel Defense has, and is still delivering thousands of units that are
continually fielded by SOCOM. The RIS II is available in Black and Flat Dark Earth.

The Omega X Rails™ feature a unique blend of Omega Rail™ technology along with the strength
of our proprietary Bolt-Up Design. Utilizing a proprietary barrel nut, the Omega X Rails™ offer
a smooth transition from the upper receiver for the most usable rail space in conjunction with a
standard front site post. It boasts a continuous upper rail platform along with integrated, limited
rotation, sling swivel attachment points on either side for ambidextrous use. Its two-piece design
allows the user to easily remove the rail system for maintenance and cleaning while still maintaining

They are specifically designed to adequately cover a low profile gas block on a carbine, mid-length

DD CHF BARRELS
Cold Hammer Forging (CHF) of barrels has been known for decades to produce the most accurate,
longest lasting rifle barrels obtainable. The Cold Hammer Forging of barrels is accomplished
through intense hydraulic pressure applied at opposing angles by carbide steel hammers. During
the hammering process, a mandrel is inserted into the bore while the carbide steel hammers shape
the barrel around the mandrel creating the chamber, the lands, and the grooves. In addition to the
aforementioned benefits, the Cold Hammer Forging process changes the micro- structure of the
steel making it stronger, with a defect-free bore and the most consistent chamber possible.

What started for Daniel Defense as a barrel project has quickly proven to be an industry changer.
Unable to locate a supplier of Cold Hammer Forged barrels for our own rifles, we purchased a
Hammer Forge capable of supporting our needs. In early 2009, after months of research and
development and labor intensive testing, Daniel Defense introduced one of the only commercially
available 5.56 Cold Hammer Forge Barrels in the United States. After fine-tuning the manufacturing
process and proving these barrels to be some of the most accurate and durable currently available,
Daniel Defense introduced an entire line of Cold Hammer Forged Barrels.
This is the core element our Hammer Forge Machine. These four
hydraulic hammers are responsible for shaping our barrel blanks around
a carbide mandrel which creates the lands and grooves of the bore as
well as the chamber. Approximately 4,000 barrels pass through this
machine each month. Cold Hammer Forging (CHF) produces barrels
with a surface finish 11.5X smoother than traditional “cut” barrels as
shown in the below comparison.
All Daniel Defense barrels are made from start to finish in our state-of-the-art facility located in
Black Creek, GA. With more than 4,000 barrels being produced each and every month, quality
control standards have never been more crucial.
Sophisticated equipment, such as the Hommel Optic, Micro-VU and Bore Scope are used routinely
for complex measurements, ensuring each barrel is to spec.

AIMPOINT® MICRO MOUNT
Daniel Defense’s Aimpoint® Micro Mount
is designed to work in conjunction with
Aimpoint’s popular Micro R-1, H-1, or T-1
optics. Its lightweight, essentials-only design,
offers a snag-free, low-profile, reversible
mounting option for shooters that do not
require or desire a quick attach/detach
mount. The Aimpoint® Micro Mount features
our Rock & Lock clamp and secures to
any MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny Rail with two
slotted machine screws. Offering a lower
one-third co-witness with your back up iron
sights, this mount is ideal for shooters who
are looking for the lightest mount to accent
their Aimpoint® Micro. Machined from 6061
aircraft grade aluminum and Mil-Spec Hard
Coat Anodized, our Aimpoint® Micro Mount is
both lightweight and durable.

The Daniel Defense 1 O’clock Offset Rail
has been updated to a one-piece design
and is optimized for mounting miniature
red dot optics in the 1 O’clock (right-hand)
or 11 o’clock (left-hand) positions for quick,
non- magnified transitions when employing
magnified primary optics on AR-type rifles
with MIL-STD-1913 rails. The geometry
allows for zero cheek-weld shift during the
transition. This facilitates very fast transitions
from magnified to non-magnified optics, and
back. The 1 O’clock Offset Rail can also be
used to mount a variety of lights and other
accessories that mount to a MIL-STD-1913
rail. By flipping the part upside-down, one
can mount a light in a good position for use
with a vertical foregrip. The new one-piece
design increases structural integrity, while our
patented Rock & Lock® technology makes for
easier installation and eliminates the need for
a second attachment piece.
The Daniel Defense Offset Flashlight Mount is
designed for use in conjunction with a vertical
foregrip. Innovative engineering ensures that
the user’s thumb has quick and easy access to
the rear button of a mounted flashlight without
compromising any control of the weapon. This
set up eliminates accidental light discharges
and is an essential part of a tactical
professional’s weapon set-up. The new onepiece design increases structural integrity,
while our patented Rock & Lock® technology
makes for easier installation and eliminates the
need for multiple attachment points.

panels provide a rubbery grip surface protecting both your rail system and your hands. They are
easily shortened by cutting to length.

Knives to manufacture a Daniel Defense

A1.5™ Fixed Rear Sight’s lightweight
streamlined design makes it the optimum backup iron sight for shooters using today’s most
popular reflex optics. Its well thought out design
does not impede the use of the charging handle
on M4 type rifles. The one-piece design makes
it easy to install on any Mil-Spec flattop upper
receiver and the sight is secured to the upper
using a slotted fastener which is threaded into
a self locking steel thread insert. New for 2013,
the rear surface features anti-glare serations.
The perfect Rail-Mount Fixed Front Sight.
The lightweight, streamlined design makes
it unobtrusive and snag-free. The one-piece
design makes it easy to install on any MILSTD-1913 rail and it secures with a slotted
fastener threaded into a self-locking stainless
steel thread insert. Special attention was paid
to facilitate the use of compact weapon-lights
forward of the sight, such as the X300 and
TLR-1. The concave radius on either side of the
sight is a great place to rest your thumb for easy,
ambidextrous activation of the light. Machined
from 6061-T6 aluminum and Mil-Spec Hard
Coat Anodized, our Rail-Mount Fixed Front
Sight is both lightweight and durable and is
the perfect complement to our A1.5 Fixed Rear
Sight. New for 2013, the rear surface features

The ConVert Grip™ was developed by
Daniel Defense at the request of the Special
Operations community. Designed with
maximum ergonomic flexibility in mind, the
ConVert Grip™ allows users to adjust the
mounting location for a pressure pad with a
Cable Remote Assembly in one of 16 positions
in a 360 degree arc around the grip. When a
Cable Remote Assembly is not in use, the grip
easily converts from a full length to a “shorty”
version. Constructed of injection molded glassfilled nylon with hardened steel components
and designed to be easily installed without
the need for tools, the ConVert Grip™ offers
operators the ultimate in mission adaptability.
The Daniel Defense Vertical Foregrip gives the
user more control over the rifle, enhancing
maneuverability in close quarter environments.
We built this for the true shooter. The body
of the Vertical Grip is extremely robust and
textured for a positive grip. Our attachment
method eliminates any movement when
installed. The waterproof inner core of the
grip is ideal for storing spare batteries and will
accommodate one AAA or AA battery, or two
CR-123 batteries.

The Daniel Defense Rail Mount QD Swivel
Attachment Point is designed to mount
the swivel anywhere along the rail system.
Designed and machined to limit the rotation
of the swivel to prevent the operator’s sling
from becoming tangled. The new one-piece
design increases structural integrity, while our
patented Rock & Lock® technology makes for
easier installation and eliminates the need for
a second attachment piece.
This latest evolution of the Burnsed Loop
provides an ambidextrous attachment of the
popular Heavy Duty Push Button QD Sling
Swivel. This aluminum constructed swivel
attachment mounts to the rear of the lower
receiver with a collapsible stock receiver
extension. The swivel’s rotation is limited
by the buffer tube preventing tangles. CNC
Machined from 6061 T6 aluminum billet and
is Mil-Spec Type III Hard Coat Anodized.

EZ CARBINE SLING MOUNT
The Daniel Defense EZ Carbine Sling Mount is
the perfect sling mount for Law Enforcement
Agencies and Military Units who must comply
with restrictions to modifications of issued
weapons. The new one-piece design slides
easily over the buffer tube for attachment to
the receiver extension. The swivel’s rotation
is limited to ensure the sling does not become
tangled. Lightweight, the EZ Carbine Sling
Mount weighs less than an ounce and is more
aesthetically pleasing than before.
BURNSED LOOPS™
The Burnsed Loop was developed over a decade ago by our friend Ashley Burnsed when he determined
that the CAR-15 should have a sling attachment point at the rear of the receiver in a position similar
to the loop found on the MP5-A3. Daniel Defense faithfully carries on the spirit of his original design
by paying attention to the slightest details that other manufacturers deem insignificant, such as fully
radiused edges inside and out to prevent fraying of your sling or your hand. The Position of the loop
is high enough to allow proper manipulation of the safety selector, yet low enough to keep the meat
on your knuckles when performing high-speed drills. All Burnsed Loops are machined from a 6061
aluminum billet and Mil-Spec Hard Coat Type III Anodized for a long life of hard use. Often imitated but
never equaled, the original Burnsed Loop™ is manufactured exclusively by Daniel Defense.
