Steven Voss joined LVA Urban Design Studio, L.L.C. in 1986, former G.
William Larson Associates, Inc and Larson Voss Associates, Inc., and
became full owner and President in 1993. Voss graduated from Arizona
State University in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science in Design (Land
Planning Emphasis) and Landscape Architecture and from Iowa State
University in 1986 with a Master of Landscape Architecture, with an
emphasis in environmental resource analysis, planning and management.
With over 30 years in the industry, Voss’s expertise includes master planning, zoning entitlements,
environmental analysis, visioning, place making and real estate evaluations.
Voss’s professional experience includes projects pertaining to master planned communities, resorts, golf course
planning, hospital campus planning and design, educational campus planning, mixed use master planning, vertical
mixed use planning, large scale city planning, commercial, industrial, site design and landscape design. Projects
have been planned and designed throughout Arizona, California, New Mexico, Texas, Hawaii, Michigan, Montana
and Mexico.
His vast experience has earned Voss many awards and acknowledgements for his and his team’s work including
Valley Forward Crescordia 2010 [Paradise Reserve], Best Master Planned Community – National [Anthem], Best
Private Golf Course Community – National [Estancia], Top 25 Club Community by “Private Gates” [Seven
Canyons], and ASLA Certificate of Honor. In addition, Voss has held many leadership roles in the community and
was appointed and later chaired by the Governor of Arizona to the Arizona State Land Department’s Board of
Appeals, and later Chaired, as well as Chair of the Tempe Design Review Board.
In addition to his numerous awards, Voss is recognized as a leader in the community through his participation in
many diverse organizations. These affiliations include American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) –
Affiliate Member, Urban Land Institute (ULI) – Member, Valley Partnership – Member, McDowell Sonoran Land
Trust Board, Arizona State Land Department Board – Past Chairman, Tempe Design Review Board – Past
Chairman, and The Boulders Design Review Committee.
Mr. Voss has served on numerous committees as a volunteer at the Non-Profit, City, Regional and County levels to
give back to the community with his time and expertise.
