We are honored you have chosen to trust Marshall Public Schools with
your child’s primary education. These educational years are the
foundation for all future endeavors. We, at Park Side Elementary,
work hard to focus on delivering a quality education for your student.
Our school district mission is “Marshall Public Schools develops the
potential of each learner for success in a changing world.” We strive
to provide your child with the opportunity to grow and develop for
success in today’s world. We offer a variety of instructional programs
to assist each child in his or her learning needs.
You are welcome to visit school at any time. Children love it when their
parents are able to visit or join them for lunch! Remember, this is your
school. We are here to serve your child’s needs to the best of our
abilities. For the safety of our children, we require all visitors to sign in
at the main office.
***Early Childhood Screening is mandated by the State of MN prior to

Side office. If your child has not had an Early Childhood Screening,
please feel free to contact the office for more information.

Standards
In kindergarten students will learn many new skills such as:
naming upper and lowercase letters, sounds of the letters,
reading sight words, writing simple words, rhyming, counting
to 31, counting backwards from 20, reading and writing
numbers to 31, adding and subtracting up to 10 and
making a pattern.
Each child at Park Side Elementary has a lunch account in
his/her name. Deposits to pay for your child’s lunch can be
made online or with cash/check at school. When sending cash
please place it in an envelope with your child’s name on it.
A successful school experience is the responsibility of the
children, the parent, and the school. Your child’s progress, both
academically and socially, is influenced to a great extent by daily
participation. Regular attendance without tardiness is the key!
We recommend using the online payment link on Marshall
Public Schools’ main webpage, to manage your child's lunch
account. A simple, effective and secure way of doing lunch!
Daily attendance is extremely important to your child's
educational experience. We have the expectation that if your
child is healthy, he/she will be in attendance.
When paying for lunch, you can send a personal check payable
to Taher Food Service, with your child. The cost is $2.45 *Prices
subject to change. Always remind your child when dropping
them off about turning the check in. Please always include your
child's name in the memo whenever sending a check to school.
If your child arrives after 8:05am, he/she needs to go to the
office to check-in before entering class.
If providing lunch from home, please consider sending food
items that are healthy and encourage good eating habits.
Please leave pop and candy at home.
