AM session 1 9:00-10:00 AM AM session 2 10:15-11:15 AM PM session 1 1:00-2:00 PM PM session 2 2:15-3:15 PM • Transportation is not provided on the first day due to the adjusted schedule. • Students initially attend class with their parents. • Parents leave class and attend a meeting with the principal. • Parents will return to the classroom to pick up their child at the end of the orientation session. First Full Day of Kindergarten September 4th • Students ride the bus by themselves. • Staff will escort students as they enter and exit the school. • Parents may not visit the classroom. • AM walkers enter the school at the playground doors. • PM walkers enter the school at the main entrance on Eagle Road. • PM walkers who have parents that drive may not drop Class Times • AM Program Doors open at 8:35 AM Class begins at 8:45 AM Class ends at 11:25 AM • PM Program Doors open at 12:40 PM Class begins at 12:50 PM Class ends at 3:30 PM • Early dismissal schedule: Act 80 Days Alternating attendance • Attendance is critical. • Good attendance habits begin in kindergarten. Home Activities to Promote Good Classroom Behavior • • • • • Involve your child in play groups with children the same age. Promote and use good manners. Talk to your child about the teacher’s role as the leader of the classroom. Work with your child to independently prepare for the school day. He/she will need to remove his/her jacket, empty his/ her book bag, hang up their jacket and book bag and bring his/her school materials to their table. Work with your child to help him/her understand that they need to be responsible for his/her own property and respectful of other’s property. Departure • Prompt pick-up at school and the bus stop are very important. • AM program – 11:25 • PM program – 3:30 • Bus students will need to attach the tag provided on the first day of school to their book bag.
