Dear Families, Welcome to Strasburg Elementary School! Kindergarten is an exciting time for little ones and their families. Children enjoy being challenged to learn, and are typically eager to try new things. You are your child’s first and most important teacher. We look forward to partnering with you to help your child reach his/her fullest potential. Enclosed you will find a calendar of activities which will help your child prepare for kindergarten. It is designed to help your child practice many of the skills that will be needed early in the kindergarten year. The pages correspond to the skill listed on each calendar date. There is one­half page for each day, Monday ­ Friday, on the enclosed calendars. Please do not be discouraged if your child struggles with a skill. Some skills cannot be mastered in a day. You may want to mark those skills, and revisit them each week. We will continue to reinforce skills when your child starts kindergarten. We are so excited to help your child join the community of readers! We look forward to getting to know your child better, and leading them through their first year at Strasburg Schools.
