REGISTRATION INFORMATION KINDERGARTEN TO GRADE 9
(please read all the information below for proper processing of your registration)

A registration package must be filled out at our school. Please allow yourself at least 30 minutes to fill out all
registration forms. Our office hours are 8 am to 4 pm Monday to Friday.

Please make sure to mention bussing needs should you feel your child will need them in September.
Things to Note/Remember:

In order to attend Kindergarten for the 2015-2016 year, your child must have been born on or before March 1,
2011.

Out-of-district students will no longer be able to attend Elizabeth Finch but can register at another district
school with available space. A student is considered out of district if they do not live in Edmonton and/or is selfdeclared as Catholic on their registration.

Please note that we are a closed-boundary school. Our attendance area is limited to the Carlton and Oxford
neighborhoods. A map can be found on our website at http://elizabethfinch.epsb.ca.

Make sure to bring the following along with your completed registration form on registration day:
 Your child’s original birth certificate
 Proof of residency (household bill or rental/homebuyer’s agreement)
 Residency documents (permanent residency/citizenship documents)
 Your child’s Alberta Health Care Number
 Guardianship/custody papers, if applicable
 A copy of your child’s most recent report card

We recommend that if your child is currently enrolled in an Edmonton Public Early Education site, and/or
receives specialized supports from a private service provider, that you contact the school to set up an
appointment with one of our Assistant Principals to discuss your child’s specific needs and necessary supports.

A Kindergarten Orientation will be held Monday, May 4, 2015 from 5 pm to 6 pm at our school.

School tours for students new to our school will also be offered May 4 and May 11 from 2 pm to 2:45 pm.

Note:
We will continue to use the random selection process for morning Kindergarten registrations.
Parents will be asked for their schedule preference (morning or afternoon) at the time of registration. If
requests for morning Kindergarten exceed available space, registration forms for morning requests will be
submitted to the District Office April 15 where registration forms will be randomly selected for the 2015
– 2016 morning Kindergarten program. Parents will be informed by April 30, 2015 of their Kindergarten
program schedule.
