In 1945, brothers Charles and Cyrus
Wightman climbed into Charlie’s Ford Model
A pickup truck and drove to Laurens, New
York for their first logging and milling job.
With little more than an Ireland sawmill,
a Cleartrack Crawler tractor and a drive to
succeed, Wightman Specialty Woods was born.

n Raw materials are sourced from within
60 miles of Wightman’s mill.
n Bark is removed and logs are sawn into
boards of lumber.
n All by-products of the sawing process are
utilized in operations at Wightman’s or are
