2014 Winter is SNOW much fun! Shiktehawk Walking/Hiking Trail Discover the peacefulness and tranquility of this hidden gem for yourself as you travel 2.2 km alongside the Shiktehawk Stream. The trail can be enjoyed year round and is the perfect snowshoe hike for beginners, but challenging enough for the intermediate hiker. Snowshoeing It’s not surprising that snowshoeing has been gaining popularity in New Brunswick. It takes Photo by C. Walker minimal equipment, it’s easy for the whole family to learn and it delivers an incredible physical workout. Whether you’re looking for an easy stroll through the woods or a challenge with hills, NB has hundreds of trails and parks that are perfect for snowshoeing. No matter how deep the snow, with snowshoes there’s nothing to stop you and friends from getting out and enjoying the great outdoors. **Our Recreation Department has several Youth and Adult Snowshoes available for public use. Snowmobiling Go snowmobiling...Journey hundreds of kilometers of groomed trails with plenty of places to pause and enjoy the great outdoors. Enjoy winter at its best! Family Fun Saturday, January 4. Jersey Theme Night at the Northern Carleton Civic Centre. Wear your favorite jersey and show pride in your favourite team. Public Skate Time 7-8pm.
