Keep your kids busy this summer at... Bridgeton Day Camp 2016 Program An outdoor adventure awaits kids ages 5-12 at Bridgeton Day Camp! The 6-week program runs from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Monday through Friday. Camp is based in Gentry Park. Campers participate in active, exciting programming, including one field trip per session and swimming at Bridgeton Crossing Family Aquatic Park 2-3 afternoons per week. Crafts, games, sports, songs and other activities round out a typical day at camp. Registration The camper’s parent or legal guardian must register in person at the Bridgeton Recreation Center. If this is your first time enrolling in Bridgeton Day Camp, please bring a copy of his/her birth certificate with you when you register. The camper and his/her parent/guardian must have a current Bridgeton Parks and Recreation ID to receive resident rates. You will also need to bring the names and phone numbers of emergency contacts. Registration begins Friday, April 15 and closes the Monday prior to the beginning of each session, or when the session is filled. Don’t wait to register--once a session is full, no more campers will be accepted! You will receive a Parents’ Guide with more information at the time of registration. Reminder: Registration CLOSES the Monday prior to the start of each session, or when the session is filled! NO exceptions will be made. Staff Day Camp staff are local high school and college students, many of whom are Bridgeton Day Camp alumni. All staff goes through an extensive interview and a background check. During staff week, they receive training in child development, behavior management/modification, bullying prevention, leadership and programming. All staff are certified in American Red Cross First Aid and administrative staff are also certified in child and adult CPR. Camp administrative staff are full-time teachers and educators. Extended Care Both programs take place in the cool comfort of the Recreation Center. A snack is provided in Afternoon Kids Club. Extended Care is VERY popular and often fills up shortly after camp registration begins. Register early to reserve your spot. Campers get to meet new friends and explore St. Louis through field trips and activities. There are four sessions of camp and each will be different, so you can sign up for all of them. Teen Camp meets each morning at the Bridgeton Community Center, and runs three days a week, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with an occasional extended day for long field trips such as Six Flags. Each week wil consist of two field trip days and one on-site day which includes swimming at Bridgeton Crossing. By popular demand, two of the four weeks will include Six Flags trips. Camp calendars with the full field trip schedule are e-mailed to registered participants as soon as they are finalized. Registration If your child has not attended a Bridgeton summer camp before, please bring a copy of his/her birth certificate with you when you register. You will also want to bring emergency contact names and phone numbers to complete the registration form. Due to the nature of the program, each session will have a maximum of 21 participants. Your child will be expected to bring it with him/her on the days we visit Six Flags. Sessions may be cancelled if minimum enrollment is not met by registration closing date. Teen Camp Q & A What types of trips does Teen Camp take? In the past (these are not necessarily the trips/activities for 2016!), we’ve gone places like SkyZone, Chesterfield Sports Fusion, The Loop, Epic 6, Demolition Ball and Swing Around Fun Town. We typically visit 2-4 teen-friendly restaurants (lunch is included on those days). Why is Teen Camp so expensive? Teen Camp goes on some field trips that are quite expensive; we also travel by charter bus on our trips, which makes the base price of the camp much higher than Day Camp. If you add up the costs of field trip admissions, presenters, staff, and transportation, you’ll find that you get your money’s worth! Splash Camp August 1-5, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Ages 7-12 Registraton closes on July 18; program may be cancelled if minimum enrollment is not met Does your camper love the pool? Join us for one extra week of camp where we focus solely on water games, activities and pool time. There will be special activities such as water volleyball, pool relay races, water olympics and land-based games with water as well! We’ll swim every day of the week (weather permitting), spending time at Bridgeton Crossing, Aquaport, and a special pool field trip on Thursday or Friday. Camp will be staffed by Bridgeton Day Camp staff members and registration policies and procedures are the same as they are for our other camps. Bridgeton Residents/BRC Members $110; Non-residents $125 There is a $10 discount for each additional child enrolled in this program Bridgeton Parks and Recreation•4201 Fee Fee Rd.
