For decades, Heidi has inspired and excited
children from around the world and made the
hearts of adults beat faster as well. Despite international appearances in musicals, animated
series, films and books, our Heidi never forgot
her roots. Because nowhere else in the world is
Heidi’s spirit and personality more evident than
in the authentic Heididorf with Heidi’s original
house, Heidi’s Alp hut, animals, museum, etc.

HEIDIHAUS
The clock is turned back to the time around
1890, when Heidi, her grandmother and all of
the known people lived in a village community. The hard winters at that time presented a
great challenge for these self-sufficient people.
My home in the little village
Heididorf is emotional time travel back to the
Swiss mountain world in the late 19th century.
Heidi and Peter already greet visitors in front
of Heidi’s house. A guided tour, when requested, shows a very authentic original Heidi
world: From the cellar used to store food, you
continue up to the rustic parlour, where Heidi
and Geissenpeter await you. Naturally, you can
also go into Heidi’s room. It is furnished simply
but lovingly – just as it was back then. Heidi’s
collection of books in many languages is also
very impressive.

Heidi’s Alp hut in Heididorf
On Heidi Alp with her gruff Alpöhi (her grandfather), Heidi spent the most beautiful time during
the summers in her beloved mountains. So that
all visitors, including the elderly, little ones and disabled persons can experience this hard and very
simple way of living emotionally, the original Heidi’s
Alp hut has been reconstructed in the Heididorf.

 Start of the walk is the Heidi-Shop / Information centre at the Bahnhofstrasse in Maienfeld.
From here the trail will lead you through the historical city of Maienfeld. Walk until you see the
sign ‘ to Rofels ’. Following this road you will
arrive directly at the Heidi Village, with the original Heidi‘s House and the Museum Johanna Spyri‘s

aim high and to visit grandfather high above Maienfeld. The Heidi Trail leads you to Hotel Restaurant
Heidihof ” with a large terrace where you can
relax and enjoy fine meals and drinks. On the trail
again, you will reach the Heidi Fountain Æ. From
here the trail leads you through the vineyards and
the city of Maienfeld, back to the start of the Heidi Trail . walking time: 1 ½ h.
