March 2013 British Car Club of Northeastern Pennsylvania March 21 Meeting Minutes BCCNEPA NEWS 2013 NEPA Vintage Motors Revival ready to go! Club Meeting: Was held on Thursday the 21st of March at Arturo’s in Dupont. The venue was beautiful, The room allowed for us to have our first digital meeting. Overall the food was good but the service was lacking , so we’ve decided to keep looking for a new home to host our meetings. The next meeting venue will be April 18th at JJ Bridjes in Clarks Summit . The meeting room is in the back of the restaurant. I actually was told quite a few times that members like moving the meetings around. Attending Members: Present at the March meeting were: Ken Cooney, Dave and Beth Koehler, Ed Ostrowsky, Jeff and Gayle Decker, Bruce and Veronica Decker, Sarah Carr and Durland Edwards, Jim Edwards, Norm Bourcier, Ron Rosser, Jon Valentine, John Munch, Garvin and LuAnn Bixler, Bill Peirce, Jack and Joan Kinsella, Karen Hornbeck, Vince and Barbara Gatto, Dave Jones, Ray Franks, Lou Danzico, Russ Kramer, Ken and Debbie Ely, Ron Roberts, Bob Petras, Wayne Brelsford one New member from Luzerne Cty, Lorraine Harmanos. It was an awesome turnout. Treasurer’s Report: Joel said that the party cost us $1486.71 Need to get members dues paid. Other than that, a l l ’ s g o o d . OLD BUSINESS: Our club’s Holiday Extravaganza was the best party yet. We passed the hat and took up a $35 collection Membership Committee Formed We discussed at length the need to reach out to previous club members. Beth Koehler, Karen Hornbeck and Lorraine Harmanos have volunteered to help with contacting former members and trying to bring them back into the fold. Lorraine has previous experience with another club in building databases. She volunteered to help rebuild ours. The club also discussed the need to reach out via selective small advertisements in newspapers where we want to develop the club further. One example is to use the club as the catalyst for creating a Cars and Coffee run to be held a couple of times a month. The club would announce on our website Friday night where the Cars and Coffee event would take place on Saturday morning between 7 and as a token of our appreciation for Elvis. A rousing round of applause for Bruce and Veronica for chairing and hosting the event. We’re going to try and book him again next year! Reminder: WEBSITE Photo Gallery: Now is the time to start rebuilding our club’ s photo gallery. Remember, we’re looking for pictures of CLUB MEMBERS with their cars, not just the cars alone. Get your pictures together and e-mail them Kim at [email protected]. If you have issues with the computer, bring your pictures to the next couple of meetings and we’ll scan them in and send them for you. The Non-show, events committee met prior to the meeting. Russ Kramer, Dave Koehler, Ken and Debbie Ely, Sarah Carr and Bob Petras attended. The TRI-CLUB Rally planning is in full swing. Looks like Penn’s Peak. Still need a date. 8:30 am. Golfers can still hit the links for an early Ttime. The net result would be that people will be drawn to our web-site where we can build a following and advertise our car show. Check the website for all upcoming events: British Marque Car Club News BCCNEPA is now a Participating Club and we get great discount prices on subscriptions. Check out their ad to the right. March Meeting at Arturo’s in Dupont (Thanks Ron Roberts) On-Line Store, on-line show registrations Another item up for d i sc u ss i o n w as the addition of an on-line regalia store. We have contacted BSN Sporting goods of Bethlehem Pa and they are putting together an on-line store. We are currently picking out merchandise to list. One nice thing is that we will have name brand regalia, Nike, UnderArmour, Reebok, etc. If you have any suggestions as to just exactly you’d like to see added to the list, speak up at the next meeting. We choosing a new line of Polo’s, New Fleece, Light wind breakers, stylish sweaters etc. The biggest issue we face is the LOGO. It’s out dated and needs to be modernized. The LOGO in it’s current format is difficult to embroider. That being said, hopefully we’ll have some examples to choose from at the next meeting. In conjunction with the on-line store, Joel has set up a PAYPAL account for the club. This will allow us to take show registrations on-line and sell regalia at the show using credit cards. With that in mind, Dave is selling off the older stock at deeply reduced pricing! TIDBITS...
