You were told that your new counselor would be Bro. Rob. I’m sure it was difficult for many of you to make the switch from warm and fuzzy Mrs. Kirkpatrick to blunt and to-the-point Bro. Rob who wouldn’t let you skip class to sit in the counseling office. :) I had a short amount of time to get to know all of you but I must say you have made an impact on me and I have grown to love each and every one of you. You are an amazing group and I brag about you all the time. I have enjoyed our times together and I have always done what I felt was best for you even when you were mad at me for doing it. God Bless and know I will never forget you. Peace and Love to each of you! —Br. Rob Robertson 64 SAINT VIATOR farewells JOE, YOU WORKED VERY HARD THESE LAST 4 YEARS AND WE ARE ALL SO PROUD OF YOU. YOU WILL DO GREAT AT DePAUL AND IN LIFE. ALL OUR LOVE AND GREAT WISHES FOR YOU, MOM, DAD, NANA, UNCLE JEFF AND AUNT LAURA Senior Issue 2014 65 FAREWELLS 66 SAINT VIATOR farewells If you’ve been a student of mine, you will recall that I often use humor to lighten a tense mood. There’s really no reason to walk the Earth being angry. Anger never solves problems. I never use humor, though, at the expense of someone else’s feelings. My first piece of advice is to laugh every day...and laugh hard. Laugh at yourself, too. No one is perfect. I’m laughing right now that you’re reading this and considering taking my advice. I’m not perfect. Second, I have always made a quip that I never entered the educational field to make money. As a teen, a lot of us think money equates happiness, but the truth is it doesn’t. It took me all of my 20s to figure this out. Money might buy you cars and homes, but you will never be truly happy without love. Love God. Treat each other with love. Find a career you love. Fall in love and love hard, no matter who it may be with. Know, though, that love is hard work. Work hard, stay positive, and love. —Mrs. Anzalone From pre-school to senior year in the blink of an eye. We’re so proud of you and all you’ve accomplished at Saint Viator. Look out University of Minnesota, here she comes! Congratulations, Lauren! Love, Mom, Dad & Emily Senior Issue 2014 67 It has been a pleasure to work with all of you this year. My prayer for you is that you will carry the words you have looked at throughout your year in Ethics into your future. Be people of courage, be people of conviction, be people St. Viator is proud to call our own. God Bless, Mrs. King “The path to our destination is not always a straight one. We go down the wrong road, we get lost, we turn back. Maybe it doesn’t matter which road we embark on. Maybe what matters is that we embark.” —Barbara Hall Senior Issue 2014 69 FAREWELLS I have enjoyed a unique relationship with the class of 2014 as a staff member and parent.
