Outstanding Student Award - Northeast State Community College
Welcome!
1
Dear Guest,
Welcome to Honors Convocation! Tonight we celebrate the students, faculty, staff, and alumni who are shining
examples of Northeast State’s mission. As we formally recognize the curricular and co-curricular achievements of many, please
remember that your individual support of our award recipients is one of the main reasons they are here this evening. None of us
are in this journey of learning alone; together we combine our talents and skills to offer opportunities that impact the quality of
life for the entire region.
Our students are charged with setting, monitoring, and pursing learning goals; taking initiatives to find solutions to
answers on their own; working and learning in teams; and relating what they learn in the classroom to life outside of the College.
Our faculty and staff work tirelessly around a set of goals, objectives, and strategies that ensure your experiences at the
College will be warm, welcoming, meaningful, and successful. You should expect to be treated by every member of our staff and
faculty as our special guest, respected client, cherished customer, and family member.
Our alumni demonstrate the core values of the College every day. Northeast State empowers our graduates to live lives
of respect, responsibility, and responsiveness. We get them “there” and our alumni pay it forward.
This is our commitment to you. We are driven by three primary principles:
Access – Pursue your dream with us. We want to be your first option academically to pursue a better quality of life
for you and your family, and we will design a tailored game plan for you based on your needs, goals, life challenges, and local
opportunities.
Completion – For some, graduation is a goal. For others, goals may include continued work toward a bachelor’s degree,
good paying job, or advancement in your career. Whatever your goal – we want to help you achieve your dreams.
Community – We are here to serve you. We are committed to being a good steward of taxpayer dollars and your tuition
funds, and we want to be an economic engine of the region by graduating and placing you in great jobs and helping build a
workforce worthy of new and expanding businesses.
Tonight, you will meet living examples of these
principles. To those being honored, congratulations on a
job well done!
Sincerely,
To those cheering them on, thank you for your commitment
to Northeast State Community College.
