Sensorex by Rugged Enhanced Digital Sensor Smart Sensor Embedded Intelligence A huge investment in R & D over the last 10 years has given Sensorex a solid experience of sensors with integrated electronics and enhanced with digital treatment. The REDS concept is the result of this work. The digital unit is based on our HCN module (digital compensation unit) which won the innovation prize 2007. This module acts as both interface and conditioner of the sensing element. It has all the hardware and software necessary to considerably improve the performance of all sensor types. The HCN has the advantage of being completely reprogrammable. With widespread configuration parameters the user set up is both rapid and precise. These parameters include zero reset (tare), sensitivity and gain, and so avoid the need for potentiometer settings. Linearization and temperature compensation are included in the function, and make it the ideal method of obtaining a high accuracy sensing unit at competitive price. by S m a r t S e n s o r Use of this module in a multitude of applications is made possible thanks to the software supplied (HCN monitor, DLL drivers, vis Lab View, universal interface software). Initially developed to be integrated into the Sensorex range of sensors, this component is by design able to resist extreme thermal environments, shock and vibration. Sensorex has its own in-house facility for microelectronic circuit production. This allows us to optimise our reactivity and industrial performance, minimises obsolescence issues and is a major competitive advantage. This approach means we are able to propose the most reliable product, in a small size and with optimum price-performance ratio.
