Social Accountability anyway? anyway? What is Social Accountability (renamed Community Responsiveness lately) has been thriving at Louisiana Methodist Children’s Home longer than documentation indicates. This activity of serving needy and under-served individuals and families within the community in addition to those whom this organization actually serves has been ongoing since the institution itself was conceived over 100 years ago. In 2001, however, a “make-a-difference” group of higher level youth was formed to perform projects with the Recreation Department to provide these youth the opportunity to give to others-less fortunate than themselves. This group quickly involved other staff who had been participating in such activities on their own time. A Social Accountability Committee, headed by Rev. Mickey Stringfield, was formed to coordinate and document these activities for accreditation purposes. These activities include nursing home visits, filling Easter baskets for children of parents who are incarcerated, planning and conducting Mardi Gras parades at a local rehabilitation facility, etc. This combined effort of our staff and children attempts to teach the young people what a joy it is to serve others. Louisiana Methodist Children’s Home was presented with the first of three dollhouses, made by the vocational students at the Swanson Center for Youth. The purpose in this project, which also includes the making of rocking horses, is to give to needy children for Christmas. The doll house was designed by Almoine Powell and, with a team of helpers, the intricate details were fashioned. The wooden dollhouse is champagne with blue trim. The dollhouses will be used in various programs at the Ruston Home. The first dollhouse will adorn the “play therapy” room of the Family Counseling Center. The others will be used by the therapists for role-playing and modeling activities. LMCH Staff Members Gary Rambin (foreground) and Jerrick Bethely make tremendous progress in refreshing the exterior It is often easy to look the other way when we are bombarded with images of people in need. Sometimes, however, someone doesn’t turn away but rather looks at the situation and wonders what he or she might do to help. Such was the case recently with one of our employees at the Methodist Children’s Home. One of the youth with whom she worked would soon be turning of age and returning home to live with his family. They had explored a number of possibilities for his future in order to help him prepare for adulthood. However, he had chosen to return home to help take care of his mother, who is disabled. The therapist had observed on home visits that the family house was in dire need of repair. As a matter of fact, there were so many problems that it was somewhat overwhelming. This need stayed on her heart, and the desire to do something about it continued to grow. After spending a considerable amount of time assessing and prioritizing the needs, a plan was made to begin renovations. A team of volunteers was gathered, and the projects were attacked with considerable determination. Rooms were painted, cabinets were cleaned, floors were replaced, the roof was patched, the outside was scraped and painted, and many other projects were completed. Much was done in the course of a single day, while staff members continued to give their personal time to continue the work. A sense of satisfaction was evident on the faces of all of the volunteers as they made progress toward their goals and began to see the transformation taking place. This is an example of a “social accountability project” that employees of the Children’s Home have engaged in, in an effort to give back to the community. W I N T E R John Allen, Vice President of Operations of LMCH, (far left) accepts a dollhouse built by the Swanson Center for Youth’s building-trades vocational program. Almoine Powell, second from left, designed the doll house. Glenn Holt, Director, (upper right) and Alan Michel, Deputy Director, (lower right), are proud of the young men who worked so hard on their project. Who cooks Christmas Dinner at the Children’s Home? For the FIFTH year, Chef Ronell Lenoir from Baton Rouge has shared his sweet spirit and love for cooking with our children on Christmas Day. He donates his time and talent to give our dietary staff a day off-AS WELL AS treat our children to a traditional meal with all the trimmings. Thank you, Chef Ronell! I S S U E 3 President's Message By Terrel J. DeVille, President/CEO LMCH What an interesting year 2005 has been! As it comes to an end and we have completed our annual Christmas activities, I am compelled to reflect on this year. In my message, which was posted back in late June, I reported on numerous accomplishments that we were able to achieve up to that period. Among those were the new Equine Therapy program, the ongoing construction of a Bunk House and a Human Maze at the OWL Center, and the expansion of the Family Plus Services. Little did I know that the second half of 2005 would present us with such great challenges and opportunities to be met. It was on Sunday, August 28, that a total of 36 children and 12 staff were evacuated from the Methodist Home for Children in New Orleans and brought to our campus due to Hurricane Katrina. They brought enough clothing and supplies to remain a few days. They are still with us and are very much a part of our family now, and we all enjoyed one big Christmas Celebration, thanks to our many donor friends.. Tentative plans for their return to the campus in New Orleans is late January, 2006. Since their arrival, the logistical and financial challenges have been great. However the response on behalf of “Great” Good Samaritans has been even greater. Without everyone’s help from private and corporate donors, churches, foundations, other non-profit agencies, and some of our sister child, youth and family agencies of the United Methodist Association, we could not have responded to the needs required to provide quality care to these displaced children and their care givers. In a separate document we will publish a list of everyone who contributed to a total, which now amounts to $503,429.21. In addition many items such as food, clothing, school supplies, and much, much more enabled us to address ALL the needs to date. President's Message By Keith Rhodes, President/CEO, Methodist Home-New Orleans After being in New Orleans for 5 ½ years as the CEO of the Methodist Home for Children, I thought I had seen and experienced EVERYTHING! My colleagues around the country have all been aware of our struggles and the progress that we had made in many areas of our ministry. AND THEN THERE WAS KATRINA! I was not prepared for this disaster, and nothing in my job description made any reference to responding to an event of this magnitude. However, it is my responsibility to ensure that ALL our children remain safe and nurtured at all times and that they see Jesus’ work through me. I cannot express how grateful I am to the Louisiana Methodist Children’s Home’ staff and residents for their kindness and W I N T E R We feel confident that the return of the New Orleans Home’s children and staff to their own home campus will be a successful one. As a result of this experience, our two agencies relationship has been changed in a very positive way-into a long-lasting partnership. This partnership may become permanent as a study is underway to possibly assimilate the services provided by the Home in New Orleans with the services being provided by the Children’s Home located at the Ruston Campus. Should this assimilation occur, it would allow for a comprehensive and united ministry on behalf of the Louisiana Annual Conference of the United Methodist church to children, youth, and families throughout the state of Louisiana. And, by the way, Hurricane Rita also offered us additional challenges and opportunities during this interesting year. We were very fortunate that only shingles were damaged on some of our buildings. However, it was a second shock to our State’s economy. Many programs for children and youth have been severely curtailed and some even terminated. All the more reason why our Good Samaritans mentioned earlier have been so important not just to our two Homes, but also to children and families throughout the state of Louisiana. My prayer is that we continue to focus on God’s will-that we always apply the teachings of Jesus Christ to accomplish our mission. As Christ brings hope and healing to each individual, we pray that will happen for all who have experienced upheaval and change this past year. We seek to introduce each individual that we care for to a reconciling love, which is a gift from God. God’s Blessings to everyone who has made it possible for us to help His children to come home to Him for Christmas. Yours in Christ, Terrel DeVille President/CEO generosity. This dilemma has been extremely difficult for our children and staff, but I cringe at the thought of NOT having a sister agency for refuge. The response to the Hurricane Relief Fund (Children’s Special Fund) is another example of God at work, and I thank each of you for your dedication in putting “hands and feet” to God’s work for the children in Louisiana. As we prepare to return to New Orleans, please pray for our organization and the study to create a united ministry, which is currently underway. There is nothing more important than changing the life of a hurting child. With the Ruston Home’sand YOUR-support, our ministry can ensure that this mission continues to happen in south Louisiana. May God’s blessings be upon you and your family. Keith Rhodes President/CEO I S S U E 4 D O N O R R E C O G N I T I O N October 1, 2005 - December 30, 2005 Thanks again to our extended family for their contributions as well as for honoring and remembering their loved ones. The following is a list of the individuals, organizations, agencies, churches, civic clubs, etc. who opened their hearts and “pocket books” to help Louisiana Methodist Children’s Home as it welcomed the evacuated children and staff of the Methodist Home for Children, New Orleans. So many of you have contributed your talents in organizing drives in our behalf. Christmas was a joyous celebration for both Homes through the outpouring of gifts and love for the children. We could not have “weathered this storm” without each one of you. We thank you from the bottom of our collective hearts. Jim and Dianne Bouford Agusta, ME Dorothy L. We lost our home and all contents, our business; and my husband and I were in 8 feet of water for 8 days, no food or water. We had only the wet clothes we had on. When the water went down, my two sons took us out, and we found dry shelter. But God is good. He watched over us and kept us alive. We live in a trailer now across the street from our house. Our house has to be demolished. But God has a better one for us. All we have to do is wait and watch, and the plan of God will come forth. Thank you so much for your prayers. It is a chance for the children to enjoy a different type of activity in the beautiful setting at the Outdoor Wilderness Learning (OWL) Center. The Recreation Department, directed by DeNeise Barlow, coordinates the activities with OWL Activities Director Kim Ratcliff to provide a carnival-like event one afternoon in late October for not only the young people, but also the LMCH staff and their families. This year was an even larger challenge with the addition of our New Orleans children. But the gracious sponsors and LMCH staff did not falter one step. Volunteers came from Louisiana Tech’s Baseball Team, Circle K Club, and Kappa Sigma fraternity. The tasty food was provided by the Smurfit-Stone crew, headed by Mr. James Bradford, a long-time friend of the Home. The aviation students and Louisiana Tech professor Gary Odom afforded our young people the opportunity to see the workings of a hot air balloon. We hope you, our readers, can imagine the fun from this collage of pictures. Mr/ DeVille enjoys a chat with our longtime friend from Smurfit-Stone – Hodge, Mr. James Bradford The blasts of the burner called everyone's attention to the balloon and its vivid colors. The Family Plus Program During the Christmas season, the Recreational has been selected to receive a grant from the Polk Foundation. This Foundation was formed in 1993 by Judy Polk King, daughter of the late Herbert L. and Elizabeth V. Polk. The stated purpose is “to support those organizations that help people help themselves.” Louisiana Methodist Children’s Home met this criteria and employ the funds in its Family Plus Program, which has offices in Monroe, Shreveport, Ruston, Baton Rouge, and a new office in Alexandria. Therapy groups all participated in making gingerbread houses from kits. The youth were divided into small teams with each team having to develop a plan for its house first. Only then could the members proceed with the fun-putting the houses together by following directions and then, THE DECORATING! Making the icing for snow was quite challenging because the consistency had to be “just right.” Another challenge was to resist eating the candy that was designated to decorate the houses. This activity promoted many goals of recreational therapy: working as a team, getting along with others, listening to directions, following directions, dealing with frustrations, being creative, and sharing the feelings of accomplishment. Our hope is that this experience and its benefits may be mirrored in the lives of these young people as they re-join their families. Ruston mourned the passing last fall of one of its “pillars Santa’s Bootboxes, a modification to the annual Social Accountability holiday gift project, was a tremendous success. For several years, the children and staff have filled shoeboxes to send internationally through the Operation Christmas Child program. Because of the tragic circumstances caused by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita in our own state, the program focused this year on our neighbors, friends, and families who were impacted by the storms. Two notable changes were obvious: fewer, but larger gifts, and the inclusion of household items in the gift boxes. The “upsized” boxes were dedicated as part of the annual Thanksgiving chapel service prior to the “family” meal where staff, their families, and our LMCH youth sit down to an old-fashioned holiday gathering. W I N T E Prof. Gary Odom shares his love for flying with Colton Boothe, son of Jane Ellen Boothe, LMCH staff member. R of the community”-Mr. William Ardis Marbury, Jr. Mr. Marbury had been a loyal friend of the Children’s Home, his support so vital to the operation of this ministry. The scholarship fund in his name and that of his spouse and partner, Mrs. Virginia Lomax Marbury, insures that the educational needs of our children will be met in the future. It is our pleasure to announce a $10,000 donation made in his honor by the associates of The Ruston Daily Leader. This gift honors Mr. Marbury’s vision for and involvement in the activities of the Children’s Home and that of the entire Ruston community. As a legacy for William Ardis Marbury, Jr., Rick Hohlt (2nd from L), publisher of The Ruston Daily Leader, presents a $10,000 check to Terrel DeVille, President/ CEO of Louisiana Methodist Children's Home, as a representative of the donors, associates of the publication. Mr. Marbury's family members who gathered for the presentation are (L-R) Mrs. Virginia Lomax Marbury, Becky Marbury Napper, Lue Charles Napper, and Lomax Napper. I S S U E 13 Update....MCH Welcome, David Durbin to the Family Plus team! A new counseling service, now being offered to families and individuals in need of help in the central Louisiana area, has recently opened with an office at the Pineville First United Methodist Church. David Durbin, LCSW, provides individual and family counseling at this location on a sliding-fee basis. All citizens of central Louisiana are welcome to participate. Mr. Durbin has 24 years of experience in the field of chemical dependency as a counselor, inpatient This Christmas, LMCH was privileged to be the recipient of a fundraising idea fostered by the Louisiana Tech Band of Pride members. The idea of a flag football game with the guys against the girls was precipitated by the fellows in Phi Buda Ruda. However, the girls in Tau Beta Sigma had a superior intramural record to their male counterparts. Much teasing took place before the event with the girls touted as anticipating an “easy win.” Even though the guys prospered in the end, the good-natured ribbing led to a worthy cause-likely to become an annual event. We thank the members of Phi Buda Ruda, Tau Beta Sigma, and other Band of Pride members who helped make our Christmas more joyful with their gift of love. Jane Ellen Boothe, Office Coordinator for the Public Relations, Development, and Marketing Department of LMCH accepts the Christmas check from the Louisiana Tech Band of Pride's fundraising effort from Errin Combest (center) representing Tau Beta Sigma and Kyle Kavanaugh (right) representing Phi Buda Ruda. Christmas also came to the OWL (Outdoor Wilderness Learning) Center, IN A BIG WAY! With over one hundred young people utilizing the Center on a rotating basis, there is always a need for more equipment. Our fleet of mountain bikes had been depleted in the past few months, so “Santa Claus” in the personage of Mr. Stephen Shirley was a very welcome sight as he delivered 20 mountain bikes for use at the Center. In addition, “Santa Steve” also took care of the mobility needs of our residential houses by providing twenty scooters as well. Thank you, Mr. Shirley, for keepin’ us rollin’ in fine style! "Santa Steve" (Left) presents Kim Ratcliff, Activities Director for the OWL Center, a fleet of mountain bikes for her program. facility manager, and regional manager for the State Office for Addictive Disorders. In addition to working in this field, he has also provided psychotherapy to individuals, families, and groups in private practice. As a private practitioner and Licensed Clinical Social Worker, he has worked with individuals and families by treating a variety of problems. David has been married to Deborah Durbin for 23 years and has two children. Mr. Durbin has additional professional experience in working with developmental disabilities and mental health. His private practice of 15 years afforded him the opportunity to serve twice as president of the Substance Abuse Counselor Organization (SACO) in central Louisiana. We of the staff of Louisiana Methodist Children’s Home want our readers to know that we count it a privilege to work in this ministry-and never is that more true than during the Christmas season. There is such an outpouring of love for our children at that time with house parties, gifts galore, and invitations to holiday gatherings. The charm of it for each of us is that we get to see JOY MAGNIFIED in over 100 faces-THIS YEAR, nearly 140 pairs of eyes glistening and mouths exclaiming delight. Thank you to all who participate in sponsoring our children through the opportunities of this ministry. Hodge UMC sponsored a wonderful holiday opportunity for our upper level youth. Mrs. Billie Adams (standing next to the tree) coordinated a hot dog supper with all the trimmings. Pastors Bill and Letty Strawbridge satisfied our young people's curiosity about the symbols on the church's tree by explaining the significance of each. A tour of the beautiful Christmas lights in Jonesboro capped a perfect evening. Lynn Clark representing the Ed Stinson Class, First UMC, West Monroe, delivers mountain bikes for our children. This faithful class (donors to the home for almost two decades) has considered this their Christmas gift for the past four years. The Louisiana Tech Football players and Director of Athletics Jim Oakes presented our CAB youth with plush beanie bears as part of their Christmas project. Lori Hamilton (a friend of LMCH from Lewis’ and Co., now in the Tech Athletic Office) arranged the details of the event. The remaining campus residents received their bears before their house Christmas parties. Thank you, Tech Friends, for making our holiday happy. Byrum Teekell, past chairperson of the Board of Directors and devoted supporter of this ministry for over fourteen years, was honored in mid-November by the Association of Fundraising Professionals, North Louisiana Chapter, as its Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser of the Year 2005. Mr. Teekell and his family were honored during the National Philanthropy Day luncheon in Shreveport, LA. Mr. Teekell led a number of firsts for Methodist Children’s Home: a Major Gifts campaign in the 90’s and a Capital Campaign following 9/11, to name two. He has been instrumental in introducing major donors and corporations to our ministry, as well as supporting us through his own resources. Congratulations, Mr. Teekell!. THANKS FOR ALL YOU DO! I S S U E 16 The Giving Two hundred thirty-three backpacks arrived on the campus of Louisiana Methodist Children’s Home Tuesday, October 18, the result of the vision of a 16-year-old high school student in Auburn, Washington. This young lady, spurred by the news of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita and their displacement of thousands of people, pondered how she could help. A normal shopping trip in her home town gave her the answer. The store had backpacks on clearance for $1 each. She asked how many they had and was told 200. Without a second thought about how she was to pay for them, she said, “I’ll take ‘em.” Envisioning how she would feel if she had to leave her home with only a few belongings and could not return to it, she wanted to help the hundreds of children in this situation. Her labor of love, now known as Backpacks of Hope, ballooned into a huge undertaking to distribute the backpacks filled with stuffed animals, school supplies, journals, etc. to the young victims of the hurricanes along the Gulf Coast. Her only obstacle was the transporting of the backpacks to Louisiana. Through family ties at a Seattle radio station, Open Door Missions was contacted for advice on the possible recipients for the backpacks. This non-government organization with an office in Monroe, suggested LMCH since the Ruston agency was housing evacuees from the Methodist Home for Children, New Orleans. The dedicated members of this faith-based service agency give W I N T E R (L-R) Keith Rhodes, CEO, New Orleans Home; Kerry Hanchai, Backpacks of Hope; Rick Sutton, Principal of Howard School on campus of Ruston Home; Terrel DeVille, President/CEO, Ruston Home, and Gary Hillyard, Open Door Missions’ President.] practical demonstrations of what our Lord may accomplish through His obedient people. Rev. David Murad, whose mother Mary belongs to the Ruston congregaton, worships at the civic-minded Chicago church. Under Rev. Murad’s direction, the Lake View church collected 32 boxes of relief items, much of which was attractively packaged in age-appropriate backpacks and shipped to Ruston. Mrs. Murad and members of the Ruston congregation then fulfilled the mission by delivering the shipment. Our thanks to the willingness of both these congregations to share in a joint mission for Christian brotherhood. After reading about the storm and its effects, the children wanted to contribute their “sparrow change.” They call it “sparrow change” because they say even a little sparrow should do what it can to help. These coins, which they had been saving for a long time, totaled $500. What an amazing testimony of love! The sale of Katrina wrist bands makes up a significant portion of this fundraising effort. LMCH’s friend, Rick Hohlt, vice-president of the Foundation and publisher of The Ruston Daily Leader, presented Mr. Terrel DeVille, a check for $1500 a few days before Christmas. Thank you for making our holiday much brighter. The Cunningham Children’s Home in Urbana, IL sent a prayer chain through its chaplain, Gay King Crede, to our children via Rev. Mickey Stringfield, LMCH’s chaplain. This reminder that the children and staff were praying for us included messages of encouragement and hope and the names of those committed to this worthy cause. A very generous monetary gift from various fundraisers also accompanied the prayer chain. We feel a warm connection with the children and staff of Cunningham. Mr. Baker gladly accepted the gift, delivering his “hunting prize” on our doorstep upon his return to the state. I S S U E Bobby Baker (left) bags a surprise trophy on his hunting trip to New Mexico. The citizens of Paris, IL and surrounding communities employed the local Salvation Army unit to collect monies for victims of Hurricane Katrina. James Houston, Salvation Army Chairman, contacted his good friend (and ours) John Buske in search of a specific cause. Mr. Buskey, knowing LMCH was housing evacuees from the New Orleans Children’s Home, mentioned our ministry. Mr. Houston elected to send the money in what was dubbed the “Kids Helping Kids” campaign. One of the interesting sidelines to this story is that a six-year-old girl named Sierra raised $56.70 of the $2701.39 total all by herself. How commendable of this thoughtful young lady! The director of marketing at a semiconductor company, Bobby decided early in the year to fulfill his dream of running a marathon (26.2 mi). With the disasters of late summer, Bobby decided to dedicate his Marathon (Silicon Valley Marathon) to the children of the Gulf Coast region. Specifically, he chose LMCH. His wife, Sharin (a dentist), became busy collecting the funds, while Bobby continued training. Bobby completed his run with a 10 minuteper-mile time, and the combined efforts of this couple netted $1000 for our kids. The experience was so enjoyable that Sharin also Bobby and Sharin Nabili incorporated a decided to begin training. dream fulfillment with help for our kids. ChristianEzekial’s Wheels, the local chapter of the Motorcyclists Association, are regular volunteers, helping with our chapel services numerous times during the year. Following Katrina, Jim Owens, Louisiana State Coordinator for the cycling association, knew we needed help with the day-to-day provision for our new additions to the family-the children of the New Orleans Home. He wrote a letter to the headquarters, explaining our situation. The generosity of this organization that, under normal circumstances, conducts toy runs for children sent Mr. Owens a $1000 check to help defray our added expenses. Bikers in the Ruston chapter as well as those in several other chapters distributed money and supplies to the hard hit regions of the Gulf Coast, not just in Louisiana. Annual Golf Tournament Information Forthcoming! Hall's 'Marks by Doug Hall I was talking with Polly Evans, in Independence, LA, about the devastation and now re-building of New Orleans. Ms. Polly expressed concern about the structure of the levees. “Well, you know,” she stated, “you can’t make a silk purse from a sow’s ear.” Ms. Polly noticed the puzzled look on my face. “Certainly you’ve heard that before,” she commented. I took a shot in the dark: “Some kind of a cow story?” “No! A sow is a pig!” Ms. Polly laughed. “You’re not really from Thibodaux, are you?” I admitted that I had grown up as a “city boy” in California. Continuing our discussion, Ms. Polly went on: “Your visit means a lot to me. I’ve contributed to several mission programs throughout the years, but the Methodist Children’s Home is the only one that’s come out to see me to say ‘thank you.’” Ms. Polly added that she appreciated hearing how our children are experiencing God’s love, and how the work being done at the Home is making an impact in our communities throughout the state-one child at a time. Ms. Polly’s witness was a blessing to me, and I left feeling inspired. Despite the turmoil from hurricane-ravaged areas all around us, the Home continues to receive a remarkable outpouring of support from our friends in south Louisiana. Many of the gifts donated in recent months were from individuals who have experienced significant losses themselves from Katrina and Rita. W If you experience any problems, call Bonnie Gaskins at 318/242-4716 or toll free, 866-255-5830. I N T E R For example, Mary Louise Nix in Mandeville, heard about the 37 children from the New Orleans Methodist Children’s Home who had evacuated to our Home in Ruston. As the holidays approached, she coordinated donations from individuals and businesses throughout the North Shore, explaining that “we wanted to make sure displaced children from our area had their own, special Christmas presents.” This caring group put together individual gift bags for each child who had been relocated from New Orleans and made sure that these gifts arrived in Ruston on time for our Christmas celebration. Yet another example of an exceptional gift comes from a couple who wishes to remain anonymous. Recently they arranged for part of their estate to be dedicated to our children. After their deaths, half of the proceeds from the sale of their home will go to their church. The other half will be directed to the Endowment Fund of the Methodist Children’s Home. “We have been blessed,” the couple maintained. “We have been making contributions to the Methodist Children’s Home for many years now, and we want to help assure that the Home will be able to continue its ministry long after we are gone.” We are grateful for all of the many ways you, our friends and supporters, continue to be a blessing to our children. Doug Hall is LMCH’s ambassador to south Louisiana. His remarks (‘Marks) will be a regular feature each quarter as he lends his vignettes from the southern byways. An Agency of the Louisiana United Methodist Conference Partner Agency Agreement Congratulations, Stormy! The NFL has sponsored the Punt, Pass, and Kick Program for several years. This year, over 3.5 million kids (ages 815) participated. Nine of our own LMCH young people competed in the regional, with three making it to the sectional competition. The scores from the sectionals are compared against others in LA, MS, AL, and parts of FL and GA. The top five scorers are invited to the Saints Team Competition, and we are proud to announce that one of our female youth, Stormy Jones, made the cut. Stormy was invited to compete before the Saints game at LSU Stadium on December 18th. She received a New Orleans Saints Punt, Pass and Kick Jersey, sweat pants, and hat. Stormy, along with the other 40 participants were served lunch and announced during halftime of the game. She received a plaque for her FOURTH place overall finish in her division. Congratulations, Stormy! LMCH is so proud of you. Stormy shows off her Punt, Pass and Kick plaque, and her LMCH coaches, Missy Spicer (L) and Scott Kelley, are nearly bursting with pride.
