In meeting the needs of a diverse, multicultural community, we strive to foster mutual respect, to encourage participation, and to develop life skills.The school also has a large Extended French and French Immersion program. A wide selection of courses and co-curricular activities are offered in French. Students participate successfully in speech and writing competitions in French. Cedarbrae's Tradition Cedarbrae has a tradition of excellence in core subject areas, including mathematics, English, science, languages, and social sciences. There is a complete range of business, and computer courses. We have a fine arts program, illustration, drawing and painting, desktop publishing. Dramatic arts, instrumental music, including steel band, and vocal music are also available. Co-op education is available in almost every subject in the school. Students can continue through to apprenticeship programs if they wish. English as a Second Language We welcome everyone to our school. We offer extensive English as a second language (ESL) and English literacy development programs including Language Enrichment Academic Program (LEAP). We begin assisting students when they apply to our school and we continue to support them throughout their school career. Nutrition for Learning We offer a full breakfast for any student every school day. Our volunteers prepare a nutrious breakfast based on the Canada Food Guide and the Student nutrition program. We also offer a snack program each morning before classes begin.
