Vineyard:
Today’s vine growers from Calatayud join forces aiming to keep the spirit alive of traditional
craftsmanship in the local vineyards whose production is renowned for the creation of
premium soulful wines. This wine is the result of that dedication. It’s the body-and-soul of
the master vine growers from 650 hectares of prime vineyards that are hidden and
protected by the hills at more than 100 metres altitude. Merging tradition with modernity,
the Virgen de la Sierra Winery relies upon the latest production techniques taking personal
care during every part of the elaboration process.
Fermentation & Ageing:
A selection of Tempranillo, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes harvested at optimal
fruit fresh ripeness. Fermentation at 24°C is carried out separately by each grape. After
malolactic fermentation and the natural clarification we make the coupage. Finally, the
wine is bottled.
Winemaker's notes:
Intense red-violet colour, very expressive & fresh nose, strawberries, raspberry fruits and
candies. Subtle pass with refreshing sweet taste.
Service suggestions:
This is a jovial wine to enjoy with roast lamb chomps with reduction of balsamic or chicken
stews cooked in the Spanish manner.
