TAA wants to have a voice! WHY SUPPORT THE PAC? The auctioneering industry in Texas has worked hard to protect its profession, as well as the citizens of Texas. Each member can not afford to monitor and hire lobbyist, so 2 years ago, the TAA Political Action Committee (PAC) provided support to hire a professional to represent our profession. Together we can make an impact! Who is our lobbyist? Todd Kercheval is the TAA current legislative representative and has over 20 years experience in working in and around the Texas Legislative process, including serving as Chief of Staff of Appropriations. TAA is lucky to have such a knowledgeable partner to help “watchdog” legislative bills, as well as issues with state agencies. In the 2015, session, many issues that impacted auctioneers negatively were stopped. With a consistent representative, awareness was increased at the Capitol about auctioneers. As a collective team with the PAC and members, Mr. Kercheval will help the profession protect licensure, public safety and monitor regulatory issues, such as online auctions.
