The Landing Dance Centre 270 SW Marine Dr. Vancouver, BC V5X 2R5 604.325.8653 [email protected] www.TheLandingDance.com AUGUST 17TH-28TH 9:00AM-4:00PM Brenna McLaud-Bichara ARTISTIC DIRECTOR MODERN/CONDITIONING Brenna has performed for Serge Bennenthan, PaulAndre-Fortier, Henry Daniel, Emily Molnar, Wen Wei Dance, Move: the company, Dancers-Dancing, and Full Performing Bodies, among many others. Brenna spent time in New York at The Ailey School and worked with the head of the Horton department at The Ailey School, completing the Horton Pedagogy Program for teachers. Brenna’s profound love of the Horton technique has grown over the years and her ability to share this wonderful technique has been a true gift for the dancers at The Landing Dance Centre. Suzanne Ouellette BALLET MUSICAL THEATRE Trained and danced with some of the worlds finest ballet companies. Suzanne has performed as a lead dancer, singer and actress. Suzanne was Ballet Mistress for Ballet BC and her extensive background in many facets of the performing arts, make her in great demand as a teacher, choreographer, rehearsal director and adjudicator. The Landing Dance Centre is proud to offer educators and choreographers of a world-class calibre. This year’s Summer Intensive features an internationally acclaimed group of guest instructors including Tosh Sutherland, Heather Myers & Lonnie Davis! Tosh Sutherland TAP Tosh has performed at the Pacific National Exhibition he has also danced with the Vancouver Tap Society, the Troy McLaughlin Tap Collective, Shawn Byfield Productions and with the Toronto Young People’s Theatre to name a few. Tosh has trained with some of North America’s most notable dancers including Danny Neilson, Dianne Walkser, Derrick Grant and Lisa La Touche. Tosh also represented Canada three times at the World Tap Dance Competition, garnering a handful of Silver and Bronze medals. Heather Myers CONTEMPORARY Heather Myers is an independent dance artist. Myers’ choreography has been produced by theatres such as Netherlands Dance Theatre’s SWITCH, The Banff Centre for the Arts, Korzo Theater in The Hague, Taipei National University of the Arts, Boston Ballet, Arts Umbrella Dance Company, and Atlanta Ballet. Myers’ has taught classical, contemporary, repertoire and improvisation classes for Ballet British Columbia, Netherlands Dance Theatre’s Education Department, Amsterdam Theaterschool, Dance Forum Taipei, Taipei University, Korzo Theater, Boston Ballet School, and in other organizations and situations. Lonnie Davis MODERN/JAZZ Lonnie’s career has afforded him training at Alvin Ailey American Dance Centre, Dayton Contemporary Dance Co. II, Gus Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago, and study with some of the most noted African American choreographers in American Modern Dance. He has also had the privilege of performing lead roles in countless productions with Wylliams / Henry Contemporary Dance Co, Kansas City, MO. Lonnie now shares his passion for dance as a choreographer and educator. Faculty is Subject to change based on Availability. AUGUST 17TH-28TH 2015 9:00AM-4:00PM • AGES 8-18 Our Summer Intensive was created to challenge and inspire intermediate and advanced dancers in their pursuit for excellence. The setting is fast-paced and the information is detailed to simulate the environment of the professional dance world. This is an excellent opportunity for dancers to push through their boundaries and learn how to adapt their process in an ever Changing environment. Over these two weeks, our talented faculty will mentor each dancer in the search of what is necessary for them to push forward to the next level. Days will be split into two sessions, separated by a break for lunch. The morning sessions will consist of technique classes in varying styles, where the afternoon sessions will rotate between choreography classes, body conditioning, and artistic training. Styles covered will include Ballet, Contemporary, Modern, Tap, and Jazz among many others. Groups will be organized based on age, experience, and registration. A minimum of 3 years dance experience is required.
