Lleyton Hewitt wins 30 ATP Title of his career
th
Newport, July 15: Australia's Lleyton Hewitt took
advantage of his second
chances to win a title on his
third attempt at the Hall of
Fame Tennis Championships.
Playing in his third consecutive final on Newport's
grass courts, Hewitt, the No.
3 seed, beat second-seeded Ivo
Karlovic of Croatia 6-3, 6-7 (4),
7-6 (3) on Sunday.
"Obviously relief to have
finally won here," Hewitt said.
"It's an important tournament, not a Grand Slam by no
means, but the last three years
I've come here and put myself
on the line and come awfully
close the last two years. It was
nice to get rewarded today."
The 33-year old Hewitt captured his 30th career ATP title
in a match that lasted 2 hours,
30 minutes.
Hewitt earned the victory
mainly because of his success
on second serves from Karlovic, winning 36 of 54.
"When he's making a lot of
serves, it's tough to get into
his service game," Hewitt
said. "I think my passing shots
and returns are probably as
good as anyone out there.
In the third set tiebreaker, I
returned really well."
After winning the first set
fairly easily, breaking in the
third game to take control,
Hewitt found himself in a
tough second set.
Like last year, when he
had a chance to serve out the
match for the title, Hewitt
was broken in the second set.
Hewitt led 5-3 and was up 30-15
in the ninth game before Karlovic broke.
"Even though I didn't play
my best, I was fighting," said
Karlovic, who had 26 aces in
the match. "I was trying to
turn it around and I was able
to do it in the third set."
Neither player broke in
the final set before the matchdeciding tiebreaker.
Hewitt broke on the first,
fifth and ninth points of the
tiebreaker to take control, hitting a backhanded cross just
inside the line to go up, 6-3.
"To go up 6-3, I hit a really
good return pass," he said.
"You've got to do that against
him."
Hewitt then closed it out
on serve when the 35-year
old Karlovic hit a forehand
return long. He dropped to
both knees when it ended,
raising his fists to the sky
before being joined by his
three young children.
"Things went well for me,
and today was actually special
for me to have them there, to
be able to enjoy it and remember it," he said.
Hewitt also was part of a
doubles' title with fellow countryman Chris Guccione later.
The pair beat Jonathan Erlich
of Israel and American Rajeev
Ram, 7-5, 6-4.
Karlovic played in his
fourth final this season after
he missed a large part of 2013
with an illness. He was hospitalized for two weeks before
returning to the tour in Newport last year.
Hewitt earned $81,500
for the title
and Karlovic $42,900
for being the
runner-up. It
was the oldest
final matchup
in the 38-year

TERMS & CONDITIONS:
1. The candidate must be resident of District Kulgam having PRC issued by District Magistrate, residing in the Revenue
village for which applying for the post of temporary Teacher and having PPRC freshly issued by the concerned Sarpanch
under his seal and signature.
2. The candidate is qualified for the post of Teacher as per prescribed rules.
3. Minimum and maximum age limit shall be the same as prescribed in J&K CSR for state Govt, services and shall be
determined as on 01/01/2014.
4. The candidate shall submit an affidavit duly sworn in and attested by the l” class Magistrate to the effect that;
a) The credentials / certificates furnished by the candidate with the application are genuine and in case these turn out
fake, fabricated or forged, the department shall be within its rights to prosecute the candidate under its relevant law.
b) The academic arrangements of the candidate shall automatically cease or stand cancelled on completion of the
academic session or as when the post is filled up on regular basis by SSRB whichever is earlier.
c) The candidate shall not claim for the permanent job.
d) The candidate be allowed to join provided a post of Teacher is vacant in the school.
5. The monthly remuneration for the teacher appointed (on temporarily basis) shall nbt exceed to Rs. 3000/- only (Rupees
Three Thousand Only).
6. In case the candidate is not available from the Revenue village, then eligible candidate can be drawn from the
Panchayat Halqa followed by concerned Zone.
• The vacancies shown in the annexure (A) are as per the feedback received from the concerned Zonal Education Officers.
• The candidates are instructed to submit the following documents duly attested along with the application form (annexure
B /affixed with a recent photograph in this office within seven days from the date of publication of the notice;
1. Qualification certificates. 2. Professional certificates (Med/B.Ed).
3. Date of Birth certificate. 4. Marks certificates.
5. PRC/PPRC. 6. Non-employment certificate (from Gazetted officer).

England and Wales Cricket
Board has sent a formal
invitation to late Mansur
Ali Khan Pataudi's wife
Sharmila Tagore for the
prize distribution ceremony
after completion of the fifth
and final Test between India
and England scheduled from
August 15-19 at the Oval.
Since the India versus
England Test series played
in England is known as the
Pataudi Trophy, it used to be
presented by the legendary
Tiger Pataudi, who was also
there during the last edition
in 2011.
"Yes, I will be travelling
to UK during the final Test
history of the
tourney.
Hewitt lost to
Nicolas Mahut
of France in last
year's final and
American John
Isner in 2012.
