After another cold and snowy winter, we are delighted to celebrate the summer that awaits us! A Summer Soiree generates funding for our three core programs: academics, co-curricular and financial aid. It’s a time to come together as members of the St. Francis High School community---current parents, Board of Directors, faculty and staff, alumni, and friends. We are truly making a difference in the lives of the many young men and women who are our children, our students, our Spartans. This is St. Francis’s major fundraising event. The benefits of your generosity through time, talent and treasure have helped to make our auctions successful each and every year! The funds we raise tonight are essential to close this year’s $1,533 gap between the cost to educate a student and the charge of tuition. We also hope to raise additional funds to install air-conditioning in the six World Languages Department classrooms in the East Wing in tonight’s “Fund-a-Cause.” Your presence tonight adds to our enthusiasm for our school’s mission as we celebrate Ensuring Our Future for St. Francis High School! Your generosity makes it possible to provide the St. Francis experience that we all value so dearly. Our celebration is the fruit of the labor, imagination, and zeal of our many hard-working volunteers from the Parents’ Organization. We would especially like to recognize the contributions of the auction chairs, Megan Riesenberg, Lisa Doherty and Annette Humes in coordination with Debbie Quirk, Coordinator of Special Events and Parents’ Organization, and the chairs and members of the multiple committees as well as the members of the Development Team; all have worked heartily to plan this wonderful evening. Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover will be accepted. Auction Rules • • • • • • • • As a bidder you agree to honor the bids that you submit. It is the bidder’s responsibility to verify the catalog number of the item for which a bid is being made. All bids are final. No refunds or exchanges will be made. All items are “as is.” All values quoted are values provided by the donor only and are not warranted by St. Francis or the auction committee. All unbasketed gift certificates and tickets will be provided at check-out. All purchases must be claimed and removed by the close of the auction. It is the bidder’s responsibility to make arrangements with the donor for all goods and services within 30 days. Express Check-Out • • • • Within 20 minutes of the close of the Live auction, donor receipts will be available on the check-out tables. Unless, otherwise specified, all expenses for the evening will be charged to the credit card swiped at check-in. Present your receipt to the volunteers at the auction tables. They will secure your item. If requested, payment by cash or check in lieu of credit card will be accepted at the end of the auction by the check-out personnel. Tax Guidelines Under Section 6116 of the Internal Revenue Code, St. Francis High School is required to inform the patrons of its Auction as to the portion of your contribution that may be deductible. If, with respect to any contribution made by you to St. Francis High School, you receive goods or services in return, your contribution is deductible for federal income tax purposes only to the extent that its value exceeds the fair market value of goods and services received by you from St. Francis High School. Please consult your tax advisor for further explanation or advice as to the tax deductibility of your contribution to St. Francis High School.
