Blwyddyn Newydd Dda!
Already in November we noticed that
which
was not quite an unknown phenomenon to us (2nd graders) as we
learned about
in our Biology and English classes.
But ,what were the results of these changes?
1.Our parents got an
additional
It’s time
to
celebrate.But it’s also time to
calculate:to look back and see
what we have done to others
and to ourselves during the last
months and what other pople
have done to us and to
themselves.Is it just our feeling
or you will agree with us that
some of us learned about
monsters during the lessons
and made cute
of
them while the others were
real monsters themselve
“We are not
MONSTERS!”We are
Dejan,Boris &
Sinisa,3.c
we had a real fun to
them reading our books
and
.We showed a great
sympathy for them as you
can see from our
illustrations!That way we
made them
real
heroes!.
As a proof of the very important fact that in our school there is
“Silence in the class!”said our teacher. The
only
you have to be concerned
with is to
with your
!“
…then another new part of the world is made:wether
it is a living thing or a non-living thing, everything on
this planet and beyond(who knows) has its own shape.
Iveta
& Maja
focusing
on the task
In order to
accomplish
the basic
shapes in
English we
used TPR
method as
you can
see on the
PhotoOndro is
trying
to guess what shape is written on his back by Renata’s finger(if you
have the rght answer, write to our magazine
to be continued
Martin,2.a , was another volunteer to mime a toy.
After he raised his arms trying
to elicit the answer (but hopelessly) he
decided to give them a clue, so
he said:”You can see that toy on
the 4.a board”-the student
rushed out
immediately
and, of course,
there it was-a cute
robot,but,oh,
myyyyyyyyyy….
the students
were soon punished for
their behaviour…
O surchool is not
an ordinary school.
It’s a magical school.Why?
Because everyone who
enters this kingdom
of wisdom could become
a KING or a QUEEN.
The only condition is to show one’s ability:
to draw,colour,cut,paste,speak,explain,guess,conclude,mime,act out,
sing,play & win,loose&continue,help,work,try,(even if one cry)…
Although it is easy to become
a king/queen in our school it is not
easy to make it last….One must be
certain to be prepared to take over
all the responsibilities and to show
high moral standards…In our
English lesson our first graders
learned first of all that every king
could be a good king if he can
wear a crown.The first grader,
Antonio,tried out his paper crown
after he finished with coloring
&cutting it out ,but oh,my.the
crown didn’t fit his head …so he
was worried,but the teacher told
him not to be upset as there were
many kings that had to give up like
Shakespear’s King Richard,
for whom a horse was
more important than the
kingdom …Anyway in our school it’s not important
what is on one’s head but what is in one’s head…
Our second graders were interested in the medieval chivalry. They learned that
theKNIGHT was one of three types of fighting men whose task was to defend
their country-the
kingdom during
the middle ages:
Knights, Foot
Soldiers, and
Archers. The
medieval knight
was the equivalent
of the modern
tank!!! –as he was
covered in multiple
layers of heavy
armor (nearly 60
pounds!)and that a
war horse cost as a
plane today!Armor, shields, and weapons were also very expensive and hard to
make by skillful smiths. Our first graders learned that to become a knight was
not easy-first an eight-year-old boy was sent to the neighbouring castle where
he was trained as a page.He spent most of his time strenghtening his body(like
our students in their P.E.classes) ,riding horses, learning how to fight with a
spear and sword and
…
They also
learned that
the lady of
the castle
taught the
page to sing
and dance
and how to
behave in
the
king’s
Court.
You can see on the photo our kings & queens, knights & pages having a party…
Once upon a
time
there was a school
(Jan Cajak)and a
classroom
(of1.a&1.b&1.c&1.d)
and a teacher who
told us about winter
and
snow …but
November passed,
December passed
and not even one
snowflake fell..
So we started to talk about a famous story “THE SNOW
QUEEN”hoping that snow would come…And it really
came-into our notebooks!!!And then we started to talk
about LOVE and FROZEN HEARTS-and we agreed that
snow is cold, indeed, but why our hearts? So we
changed the end of the story unfrozing the Queen’s
heart and now we are sure that if
the snow
don’t come this
winter,
LOVE
will!
What is a gift?Life itself.Everything that lives.But also non-living
things.How is that?
Consider this: the living things give gifts:they could be fruits ,they
could provoke someone’s creativity, acting and that is a gift which is
given to others…
People as much as our
students , want to express
themselves and to give
messages to others and then
those who are given these
messages become happy
and that is a gift too..Nonliving things which are not
made by people are also
gifts …They contribute to to
the whole on this planet…
Following
their tradition
KES(Christian
Evangelistic
Center visited
our school
giving an
interesting
program as
well as the
gifts to our
students…
Santa,Santa,San
ta Claus,
I can smell you
with my nose.
Red clothes,
white beard,
HO,HO,HO –
should I be
feared?No.No.
No,you are
good.You will
bring me a
happy mood…
HEY!HEY!HEY!A gift in a box! When
you come then CHRISTMAS ROCKS!
Our first graders were very fond of
the Christmas and Santa Claus theme
and showed their creativity in
making their individual Christmas
stockings and Santas.They were
especially motivated to do that
thanks to our school project-MAKE a
CHRISTMAS CARD/TOY for your
FRIEND/TEACHER/SCHOOL STUFF .
1.”The
world is
magical
but never
forget to
return to
NATURE!
I wish you to
be attractive
the whole
year through!
Before
Christmas
and winter
holidays
the idea of
making toys
completely
absorbed
our
students:
a king,a
deer,
a cartoon
characterall those
cute paper
figures
became
not only
cute toys in
our
students’
hands but
also living
things
ready to …
so our
students
had
an
interesting
discussion
with them…
I order you!BE
HAPPY!
Although
one could
have a
strange look
he could be
someone’s
HERO!
My town(village)in the future
The lower grade as well as the
upper grade students from
Selenca,Pivnica,Kysac,Hlozany,K
ulpin,Maglic,
Petrovec but also the children
from Petrovec and Kulpin
kindergartens “Vcielka” . They
created their works of art in three
workshops held by our
outstanding specialists of art:Mr.
pavel Cani,Milorad Bogdanovic
and Michal Durovka. The stated
pedagogues were at the same
time the members of the jury ,
who gave the evaluation of the
students’worksDespite of the fact
that diplomas and awards went”
to the best”many students
showed their high interest and
talent in this art branch.
Petrovec-an inspiration for our students
The

in our
school was
done by our
former Art
teachers Mr.

Born in
-Tekovske Luzany,Slovak
Republic) the painter
ranks as
one of the most prominent
representatives of the Slovak avant
garde.Although he achieved his high
artistic education at the university
of Bratislava his artistic “credo” has
been built in Micina. the village
where he spent his
childhood.As he said”My
grandparents and
my aunt who took care of me didn’t have to worry if they left me alone-they
knew that I will be safe-I spent my time watching all that beauty around me
and I tried to put it on the piece of paper using pencils, colours, paint. And stll
now when I am in Bratislava I live and
work as if I am in
.I can
remember the
which are
devastated now like many trees in
Bratislava –a tree is a living thing that must
be worshiped,than hard-working women
and men.their goodness.I
the
to four:red,yellow,green and blue.I
don’t add colours,I reduce them!When I
was young I played the violin but then I
realized that my vocation was a
and I was not so good at playing as I wanted
to be. I have always been optimistic while
painting although I think that
and that
makes me feel sad…”Milan Laluha was
to the art and culture
development
of Slovakia by the President of
the Slovak Republic in 2011.

their own

In our English lesson we discussed the
theme FOOD.This is a very important
issue in our life .We concluded that
Slovak tradition there is a proverb:
“Love through the stomac comes”.But we also concluded that not only by food
we are alive. We grow and build our body (which also means also our soul )by
consuming non-materialistic kind of food. You can reach it by thinking,
contemplating,analyzing,creating,listening,expressing,painting,writing…
This is how the students from 4 b
welcomed and really surprised their
English teacher on the last lesson
before winter holidays.
They prepared
a short program.
Whole class participated.
A few of them played and
the rest sang.
They were amazing!
