CPES Attendance Rate For those who would like to purchase pizza, it is $1 per slice. Our College Park goal is 98% 96.7% This Week’s CPES Champions Congratulations to the following champions who were honored on The grade that has the greatest attendance will be awarded an extra recess! Doors open at 6:00 to get your Bingo cards and pizza. Bingo games begin at 6:30 pm. We’d like to make sure every child goes home with a prize. To make that happen, each child attending is asked to bring one item to donate to the Prize Table. This can be a toy, game, book, DVD, etc. - anything that a child might enjoy. If your family is attending, please turn in the registration form, even if you do not order pizza, no later than Wednesday, February 17th. Spring Pictures Spring Pictures will be taken on February 19th. Order forms have gone home. (See page 3 for more details and the online order code.) Pike Township Centralized Preschool Survey The MSD of Pike Township is looking at the feasibility of starting a centralized preschool program. Students will be exposed to a high quality holistic curriculum designed to develop and prepare students for success in school. We are interested in receiving feedback from parents/guardians who will have preschool age children at the start of the 2017-2018 school year. The survey will be available during the month of February and can be accessed on our district website found at http:// www.pike.k12.in.us/surveyLogin.aspx?pin=2017. A message from your CPES PTO…. There will be approximately 30 pages filled with pictures. All students photographed will be included with their classroom peers and teacher. Page 3 Treasures for Education On Saturday, February 20, the Pike Township Educational Foundation (PTEF) will host their 20th annual Treasures for Education. The dinner and auction will be held at the JW Marriott in downtown Indianapolis. Marianne Lyles, morning anchor for CBS 4, will serve as the guest speaker for the event, which begins at 6:30 p.m. The cost is $100 per person or $600 per table of 8. Additional information, including online registration, can be found at www.pike-ef.org. Community Open House & Ribbon Cutting Please join us from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Pike High School on Saturday, February 27, for a Community Open House and Ribbon Cutting to celebrate our new Aquatics and Pike Career and STEM Centers. Guests will have the opportunity to take guided tours, obtain information about available programs and services, register for swim lessons, and more! Pike High School senior Tyana Robinson is one of sixteen young ladies from across the U.S. that was selected for a national 3point voting competition. From now until March 10, you can help ensure Tyana gets the recognition she deserves by voting for her 3 times a day at www.highschoolslam.com. In addition to being an exceptional scholar, Tyana, who plans to continue her studies at Florida Atlantic University, has a long list of honors, including: All-Marion County 1st Team School record nine 3-pointers in one game School record 3-pointers made in one season Junior Indiana All-Star Career 1,000 point scorer School record 3-pointers made in a career Indiana All-Star Candidate Career 1,000 point scorer BSN Student-Athlete of the Week (January 2016) Singing Success Pike High School's Encores, Mystiques, Combo, and Crew had terrific performances at Edgewood High School on Saturday, February 6. Jai Tudor and Tiana Williams were recognized as Outstanding Performers and Aubaine Rutland received the best soloist award. The Mystiques advanced to the evening finals and placed 1st Runner-up in the Women's Show Choir Division. PHS Wrestling Tras McMillian and Thierno Diallo qualified for the wrestling Semi State! PHS Swimming Our Lady Red Devil Swim team finished runner-up at Sectionals on Saturday, February 6 and are stand bound in three events. Cathryn Schroeder was the Sectional Champ in the 50 Freestyle and the 100 Freestyle, and our girls 200 free relay team of Cathryn Schroeder, Cleopatra Herron, Madelyn, and Kylie Smith were named Sectional champions with a time of 1:45.83. Page 4 2016-2017 Kindergarten Enrollment Information The 2016-2017 Kindergarten Electronic Enrollment Window will be open from March 14 – April 15, 2016. New and existing families may go on-line at www.pike.k12.in.us to enroll kindergarten students ONLY during this time. Parents/Guardians must provide the school with the required documentation to complete the enrollment process. Parents may bring these documents into the school once they have completed the on-line enrollment process or bring it with them during the Kindergarten Round-Up event that is scheduled for April 14, 2016 – 5:30 p.m. – 7:30p.m. Kindergarten Round Up will occur at each individual elementary school site and will provide an opportunity for parents to meet school personnel, turn in residency documentation, complete the enrollment process, and receive school-specific information. In order to enroll at any of Pike’s Continuous Calendar Schools, families must have completed and been approved through the lottery application process. MSD of Pike Township Enrollment requirements are as follows: Parent/Guardian current driver’s license, passport, Consulate ID, or other state photo ID Child’s state issued birth certificate Child’s current immunization records Proof of Residency – One current bill or document – gas, water, or electric; car payment, insurance or registration; student or government loan; credit card or bank statement; government assistance or agency; or payroll stub in the parent/guardian’s name and Pike address; AND Copy of Deed of Trust, current mortgage payment; or closing documents OR Copy of Lease or renters agreement If you are temporarily residing with a Pike Township resident: The resident must provide Proof of Residency. The parent(s) or guardian(s) will need to provide a change of address from the post office and two other pieces of mail showing the new address. Within 30 days, a valid driver’s license or government approved ID showing the new address, will also be required. Page 5
