Welcome to get involved! 2010-2011
Dear Incoming UCSD student:
Congratulations on your recent admission to UCSD and welcome! I would like to introduce you to the
Center for Student Involvement at UCSD, where we invite you to explore your involvement, service and
leadership opportunities. We encourage you to become involved in co-curricular activities that offer the
opportunity for a well-rounded college experience.
Check out our website: http://getinvolved.ucsd.edu, and browse through the more than 550 student
organizations that were registered during the 2009-2010 academic year. There are bound to be many that interest you; and note that you
aren’t limited by this list because it only takes four students to start a new organization!
Take this opportunity to have an impact on your life, to celebrate the diversity of our student organizations, and to develop yourself as a leader
and contributor to campus life at UCSD. We look forward to meeting you and introducing you to the many ways for you to Get Involved!

“Being involved in Alternative Breaks
defined my undergraduate career.
It helped shape who I am. It gave
me a passion for service, for life, and
for humanity. It gave me an outlet
to be creative, grow personally and
professionally, and travel the world. It
provided what cannot be provided in the
classroom, but it also supported what I
learned in the classroom. “
“ It is the definitive experiential service
experience. It has provided me with a
lifelong network of friends I will keep
forever.“
“Alternative Breaks has changed my
