Scientific Trials at the University of Applied Sciences
Bingen reveal positive effects of VITACEL® on zootechnical
parameters and the functional calf rumen development.
The observed beneficial and accelerated rumen development is due to an improvement of the digestive system
and increase of the dry matter intake resulting in enhanced disease resistance and improved fitness. Loss of calf
power can be avoided and less treatment costs arise.
The measurable benefits from a field trial at the University of Applied Sciences after the feeding of VITACEL® in
the milk replacer:

Monitored field trials on farms and trial stations show the
consistent efficiency of the VITACEL® - formulation. The
average daily weight gain of different investigations
reveal an increase by 150 g per calf/day during the drinking period. This is due to a pretermed and increased
intake of concentrate feed and roughage through VITACEL® .
The stabilization of the digestive system makes the calf
more resistant and procures an improved immune status.

Reduced diarrhoea incidence
The early supplementary feeding of VITACEL® assures a
gentle acclimatization of the monogastric suckling calf to
crude fibre intake. This enables a pretermed intake of roughage and digestive disorders are substantially reduced.
The extremely fine fibrillated fibre particles with high capillary activity form a fibre network in the intestine, stimulate
the intestinal villi growth and enables a better water reabsorption in the large intestine. The water and electrolyte balance is stabilized and calf scouring is effectively inhibited.

VITACEL® is versatile applicable and is suitable for all feeding strategies. Due to ideal solubility and flowability we recommend to add VITACEL® to the medical doser of the
feeding automate or directly to the whole milk.
VITACEL® is stable in pelletizing and extrusion processes
up to a temperature of 200 °C.
Similar results appear by supplementing VITACEL® to
the TMR or concentrate feed.
