Maria Elena Nava was born in a small town in Michoacán, Mexico. She came to Los Angeles at the age
of 14 and quickly adapted to California’s bicultural environment. She learned English in a short period of
time yet kept her strong Mexican cultural roots very much alive. She is a reflection of the music, the food,
the family values and traditions of her Mexican heritage.
Maria’s on- air style is pleasant, appealing and honest. Her show’s prime content is based on life itself.
On her show, Maria comments on the most relevant current events, relationship issues, the latest on
health, beauty tips as well as entertainment news. Her engaging show covers everything that’s important
to the listeners of Recuerdo 103.9 FM /98.3 FM . She considers music to be “the universal language” and
enjoys getting together with friends to attend a concert or just spend time together having a great time.
